I think so. I think the reason why we haven't seen any since November, 2007 is because Nintendo is probably working on Mario Party 9. Only this time, they will dramatically improve on its lacking predecessors (Other then the first three, those were awesome).
I wouldn't care. I never really liked Mario Party. If 8 is still selling, Nintendo should definitely wait on releasing another one. Hudson has better things to do anyway.

One of the franchises from Nintendo, besides Pokemon and Animal Crossing I never really cared for. BUT, I'm willing to give this one a go if it supports MotionPlus. Really though, I wouldn't be suprised if Nintendo Unveiled the next Mario Party for the Wii at E3. The timing just feels right.

I'd like another DS one, the current DS one was near fantastic. Although Duels were luck-determined garbage, and online would have been nice (people will say it takes too long for a game, you can always add friends, or even just play minigame compitions).

The console Parties after 3 slid way downhill.
The DS installment was great, I also think, especially because it was on the go. But yeah, 1 was best, 2 was close and still awesome, same thing with 3, 4 was a bit stale, 5 took one step up again, then they rolled a piano down the stairs making the other 3 fall off and colapse completely
I got the first one, it was good, but a bit long. I also got number 8, but it was pretty dry. The games weren`t very good at all. In fact, they all came down to the same thing, the first one had some pretty good games though.

8 touched on something that I thought was really fun. The hotel board. That was real fun investing in the hotels with your coins. Sometimes it as a gamble if someone came along with more coins they could steal out from under you. That was the best board yet other than MP2's Boo board. Loved that one as well!
If they do a 9, they better bring DK back into the game as a playable character! I've never really gotten back into the series when they decided to make him a special appearance character versus a playable one.

Yes DK is a must. I remember seeing the Bowser footsteps leading to the pipe in the first Mario Party and being suprised xD I bought 8 ,crossing my fingers, but the games were too short... Although I did enjoy that Hotel one too, but there is no classic board =[
