@Tony: Are you serious? Did they just redesign the Wii section to compete with Yahoo? If so, then I'm giving them the middle finger and will start avenging Nintendo. Yes, I am not kidding. Except that I won't let you people know of my videos.
The entire website was redesigned. And honestly, it looks a lot better.
I was talking about if IGN already tooken an more casual approach to the Nintendo Wii section.
The old one wasn't casual?
Hang on, you didn't honestly say "tooken" did you? fixed your formatting -- TBD
Everyone likes to pick on IGN. I don't like the site myself, but I don't understand the need to constantly attack every little thing they do and act like we're doing it to right some wrong we've imagined them to do to Nintendo. So they are anticipating games from other systems more than Nintendo's. So what.
Nintendo does not announce most of their games far in advance. NSMBW wasn't announced a year in advance. Zelda doesn't have any significant details released or even a projected time frame for 2010, so they can't include it. We know nothing about Pikmin 3, not even what system it'll be for. Other M has one trailer with only a little game play shown. We have to take into account that Project M is an unproven development partnership and this is a new type of game for Samus, and we still don't know exactly how the game plays. I'd put it on my list in a heartbeat (already preordered with a gift card), but there's lots of reasons someone else wouldn't. Galaxy 2 we don't even really know that much about, but they are assuming it will be good because Galaxy 1 was, which given the trailer is probably a good assumption.
What else do you want from them? So their team is anticipating more games from other consoles -- doesn't mean they won't end up liking Nintendo's surprise releases just as much if not more. Nintendo hasn't given them much to look forward to, which is fine by me. I prefer surprises. Their list looks fine to me, though I've always wondered why anyone cares about any Gran Turismo game. Just another generic racer to me... **shrug**
I get a bit annoyed with IGN. I also get annoyed with forums like this that always bash other sites opinions. Someone tell me one, JUST ONE multiplatform site that you feel isn't filled with Nintendo hate. Hey, now there's a topic!
Also, in the grand scheme of things their list wasn't that bad. I kinda wish someone liked Red Steel 2 enough for it to be on the list but that's just me.
^^^ I think Destructoid is pretty good at keeping down the Wii hate. Probably from a combination of good moderating, and fair reviews that don't bash the graphics or controls.
Somebody set up us the bomb. Wii: 8703 7486 8875 3789 I love PWN3NG NintendoLife members on Tatsunoko :-)
I still frequent IGN due their "you heard it here first" attitude. I know it's silly, but there's something cool about going there and learning for the first time about games like Conduit, Project Monster, Gladiator A.D. The Grinder, and if it ever sees release, Winter.

I think it looks better too, but I am still frustrated with some of the changes.
Gametrailers reviews and retrospectives are very well done in my opinion. Watch the Zelda and Star Wars retrospectives if you get the chance. Excellent stuff!!! And not to totally bash IGN, I do enjoy reviews by Matt, Mark, Craig, and Lucas Thomas. I just with they would keep the Nintendo team together instead of spreading them on different consoles and assignments. Oh and put Levi Buchanan back on the retro site. That was my favorite part of IGN until they moved him to iphone.
Bah. I don't care. I have no respect for those "journalists".
I used to be silly and take journalists word for games. Even after reading entire reviews in the end I'd still look at the score and say "ugh thats low, must be bad." Then games like Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, FFCC:CB, Silent Hill and others started getting fairly low scores and I found after trying them that they were thoroughly enjoyable.

But let's be honest, outside of the Nintendo fanbase, who's actually waiting for No More Heroes 2 or the new Metroid.
I'm not sold on the new Metroid yet since Team Ninja isn't Team Ninja without Itagaki. I'll wait to see how that turns out. I am waiting for No More Heroes 2 though... no, nevermind, that's going to be updated in due time to the PS3/360 just like the first game. You can't blame IGN for only mentioning Galaxy since that's pretty much all that's worth mentioning until Nintendo decides to unveil the next Zelda. Everyone has probably seen Nintendo's 2010 Wii lineup and for me, it doesn't really impress. Their DS lineup is great though.

OH COME ON!!! They had some damn good games on that list (well, Gran Turismo 5 and Yakuza 4 are debatable...), and most of the Wii's most anticipated games have been released already. Sure, the list could've used a little Other M love, but honestly, what else could they have listed that would even compete with some of those other games? The new Wii Zelda no one knows anything about? The new Kid Icarus and Pikmin game that no one has confirmed was actually being made? Have some common sense, people!
Meh. IGN is the pretty much the last place i go for Ninty info/news/reviews. I do like their Comics page, and they do cover the HD consoles well. Too bad the Retro page fell by the wayside, but it seemed after the first few months, Eli had nothing to talk about but constant Sega praise (and little coverage/articles on anything else) which got rather tedious.

Well, in addition to Mega Man 10, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid: Other M, there's Red Steel 2, No More Heroes 2, Sin and Punishment 2, Rage of the Gladiator, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Lego Harry Potter, and so on... Wii Zelda is still highly anticipated just because it's a new Zelda game.
One thing I do like about IGN is that they're the only other site besides here that reviews most of the Virtual Console and WiiWare games, although I agree with NL's reviews much more than IGN's reviews.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

1. Lego Harry Potter is a multiplatform game. 2. I doubt any of those can compete with most of the other games on that list. Red Steel 2 and S&P2 may have a chance, but that's a big might.
Metroid and Mario can't compete? First time in this thread I believe and I've only read the last comment by Ricardo.
Sure they can. I was talking about everything else he listed. Galaxy 2 and Mega Man 10 didn't count cuz, y'know, they're already on there.
Plus, I said in my last post that I was ashamed to not see Metroid: Other M mentioned. Try reading more than the latest post before you comment next time.
