Hi all,

I'm having a problem which, although I reckon is probably down to my TV, I thought would be best to post here and see if anyone else is having or has had the problem.

My problem lies with games for NES and SEGA Master System. Once Wii runs them and changes the signal to 576i, I get an "out of range" message from my TV. I've changed my Wii to 576i and it works fine. My SNES and N64 games run fine in 576i. Everything except for those titles works fine after being converted too 576i. So why don't they?

Further information - my Wii was previously hooked up to the same type of TV, HD-ready running in 1080i and set to run using 480p using YPbPr cables. On that TV, NES and SMS games worked fine. This is why I'm confused as to why they don't on what should, in theory, be the same type of TV.

I'd really appreciate any help you could give me with this.

Jack

Edit: Have just tried with a regular AV cable. Quality is quite a bit worse but the games do work now. Still, any ideas how I could get them to work using a YPbPr cable, or is there no chance of them working with it if they don't now?

Sounds like your TV might support those resolutions over component, but it's not able to switch resolutions automatically. My Philips plasma does, though it takes a second or two. To be honest having to switch your Wii settings is a lot better than many people whose TVs don't support interlaced resolutions over component at all and have to swap cables!

One more question: what kind of cable are you using? Could be that the cable is what's causing the issue (I have two systems with official Nintendo cables and one with a cheap 3rd party one and none of them have issues, but you never know...).
