I couldn't agree any more with you.

Super Mario Sunshine was an excellent soundtrack. It's just a shame they made you play through that stupid game to hear it.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Those blue coins were lazy development and it made up nearly half the game's stars. But the worse part was they nearly were impossible to find unless you had a guide or a lot of time on your hands. The camera angles were horrendous and the whole idea of FLUDD and the "water world" (so to speak) was stupid. Especially when compared to Galaxy or even 64. Oh and Yoshi dies in the water? ...EVERYTHING IS WATER!!

In your opinion of course.

@Chrono Cross

I thought I just fired you.

I didn't get all the blue stars, and yet I found it to be a lengthy game with no shortages in gameplay. Those were just a bonus for the obsessive, in my mind. I honestly have never understood camera complains about 3D Mario games; it's so easy in Sunshine to use the yellow stick, to the extent that it became second nature and I never consciously thought about the camera. I was skeptical about the water at first, but came to love it, like going to a Mario water park. Fun all around.

I thought it involved wayy more technique than the other 2 combined which I loved. Maybe making a new play control wouldn't hurt. The idea of yoshi was good (but it was better in galaxy) But they win in
Gameplay (Being technically Mario's only shooter title)
Home (You know like starship Mario It's too tiny)
Story (Giving Mario a "Vacation" and then getting arrested was a good idea)

You did Wario.

It was a pretty lengthy game if you played through all 120 stars. If you did.

How far are you in Sunshine? I don't know anyone in my life who hasn't complained about the camera angles and were human and had an IQ over 80. The yellow analog stick did anything but help for me. If they had no problems with it and they beat it 120 stars their either lying or are very, very fortunate. And the water, well like I said about the whole Yoshi thing plus the whole "fruit vanishes in the water too, LOL!!". ...no lol.

Gameplay- clunky, repetitive. You went though every world collecting red coins every time, jumping on Yoshi's back, collecting 30 blue coins, battling Bowser Jr, and ofcourse collecting 100 coins for a Shine Sprite. It's foreign for Star everyone.
Home- It wasn't so much a Home let alone it was a whole level itself. All the events that took place and the Shine Spites scattered (which is another form of lazy development since there was about 16 stars you could find in Delfino Square alone), all over the place. It wasn't exactly Home to me.
Story- I'll give it to them. They mixed it up for once. But that's the only thing that's good other than the music and the graphics.

Just to randomly join in, Sunshine was not the best Mario game, that's a given, but it's still a fun game overall, despite its quirks. I for one loved the graphics of the game, and thought some of the challenges were genuinly hard, but most of it though was pretty easy and even boring on some parts. Plus, it's the only Mario game that I know that has you go into every world 7 times to get to the final boss. Some levels I absolutly hated (I'm looking at you Noki Bay...). Despite that though, it was a solid Gamecube game, but doesn't deserve all of the hate that it gets

The only game in the series that didn't have camera problems is Galaxy 2, dinosaurs can't swim and that made it pretty challenging, which is a good thing. The fruit was basically only needed for Yoshi, and I don't remember ever needed to get fruit across water, so whats the big deal about that one?

Sunshine was the best Mario game during the FLUDD-less levels. Pure platforming joy with difficulty. The FLUDD gameplay mechanic was hurt by a control scheme not up to par with other Mario titles. Also, the game designers had to have been high when they developed Yoshi's gameplay.

Galaxy 1 had a great camera. Dinosaurs can swim. Do some research. Last I recall Yoshi swam in Galaxy 2 anyway. And correction on that last part. You not only needed to get fruit across water on Bianco Hills to obtain Yoshi but to get a blue coin from a Delfino girl in Delfino Square you need to kick a... uh... whatever the fruit is where you can't pick it up but you need to kick it around? I don't know but anyway, you need to kick it across the boat's canal in Square, which is fairly difficult and cheap.

Oh I loved Sunshine.

I've already said repeatedly I love how Nintendo went all watery/beachy/oceany with that and Wind Waker.

There's just no fixing the problems it does have, especially with the Wii. All of Sunshine + motion controls = even more of a mess.

Somebody mentioned Super Mario Sunshine? That means I better add my two cents on the title, something I've never done here before: It was a steaming load of crap.

As I said, I didn't get all the blue coins, but I did complete every normal level, the various secrets in the hub world, and all the 100-coin shines. The camera didn't bother me, it was just natural part of the controls to use the yellow stick when I was jumping around. I guess I must slip by on the "and were human" requirement.

@The Fox's 2 Cents

I refuse to accept that as legal tender.

Ah I see. Well your very lucky and to be honest I can't believe you felt it was natural. I wonder what Super Mario Galaxy 2's camera angles are to you, lol.

NPC NPC F-Zero GX would be terrible. The motion controls are no where near precise enough to keep up with the high demands for control.

I loved Super Mario Sunshine. I beat the game but didn't 100% it. I didn't have any troubles with the camera either. I mean, I DID have to move it with the yellow analog stick, but It was never an annoyance. The gamecube was the first system I really paid a lot of attention to. Naturally, I just adjusted to Sunshine's controls. I had good times with that game, good times...

But back to the NPC topic, I don't want Sunshine NPC. I want Sunshine 3DS.

Everything about Fludd makes Mario himself pointless. Jumping on bad guys? No need. Just shoot them. Jumping from platform to platform? Who cares, just hover or rocket. Not really a Mario game to me, but the secret levels were the best 3D Mario levels yet, and anorexic Yoshi is as amusing as he is disturbing.
