Yep the N64 joystick was a pretty shoddy design choice when you look at the inards of one.The plastic grinds away over time and eventually you need to replace the whole stick unit. I think the overall design they went for with the N64 was great though and obviously is still great today hence the similarity's.Ergonimcs don't change.Pesonally I thought the gamecube pad was close to perfection (cept' that damn Z button grrr and the shoulder buttons were a bit weird too) but I never tired of pressing that huuuge A button . For me now the perfect standard pad is the 360's it just fits perfect in my hands.

I had to use the D Pad for a lot the type of games I liked on the N64 as the stick for taunting my opponents. Well now I know why my nunchuck feels so stinking comfortable in my hands the first day I got my Wii a few years ago . I always liked the N64 pad as I thought it was comfy.

Anyone still play their N64's a lot to this day ? I still play my wrestling games and Perfect Dark a lot.

The nunchuck feels better than that section on the N64 (imo), but yes, there are some very striking similarities.

The N64 controller gave birth to all the analogue controllers that followed, and I still love it. <3

Defintiely for the wrestling games -- WCW/nWo Revenge! I haven't found a wrestling game that i've really enjoyed since the N64 days.

Oh, and of course for ... say it with me ... Blast Corps ... Blast Corps! BLAST CORPS!

I only thought its designed to hold the Z button but didn't think it would be this typically
