It's about time that we get a Capcom game from the TurboGrafx-16 and experience the beginning of the Street Fighter series. BTW, is it for us or Japanese?
Already got the arcade version as part of Capcom Collection 2 and also, it's really bad... And I can only imagine that the PC Engine one is even worse...
If anything the music may be improved. It was pretty bad on the arcade version but the gameplay on the Fighting Street clip sounds better. We'll have to wait and see. Anyway its not a great game but cool if you want to see the early start of Street Fighter.
this game rules! i love old fighting games like this! jeez with this, tatsunko vs capcom AND super street fighter IV all coming out with in the next few months...its safe to say that the size my video game calluses will be increasing exponentially until i have no more fingers....just giant calluses that i smack against the controller with surprising amounts of accuracy.
edit: i just was reading the wiki page and it says this game has no 6 button lay out (oh yeah, turbographfx controler has 2 buttons) and the strength of the attack is "determined by how long either of the action buttons were held". sounds kinda soft...a street fighter game with no 6 button control? i will definitely try it out but it definitely lost its appeal to me.
Yay? [It's obvious I played this game on Capcom Classics Collection Remixed] It pales in comparison to all five Street Fighter 2 games combined. Awkward controls do not a good fighter make [AHEM Mortal Kombat AHEM]

Actually, you'll figure that the amount of time you generally hold a button in with a 6-button SF game is more or less the same amount of time you need to hold it in to get the wanted attack in this game. Generally, you tap the light attack buttons and hold the strong attack buttons in for a long time - this game's controls feel very natural once you just try them.
...but yeah, it's not an overly good game in the first place. Go get Fatal Fury, it's the same concept done SO much better.

starboy, i think your a great guy and all but im gonna have to disagree with you. mortal kombat 2 and 3 are some of the best fighting games of all time. just because you don't take the time to learn a fighting games control style doesn't mean it has awkward controls. mortal kombat has its focus more on combos and special moves so unless you learn how to do these your gonna be bummed cause your gonna get beat hard. i have played very few fighting games that i can say were unplayable do to controls. but im a total head, i'll play anything lol. some fighting games i play have suuuch crappy controls but i play anyway because i enjoy the feeling of playing late 80's arcade fighters.
@Adamant i understand what your saying, thanks again for dropping the science as usual. i got fatal fury 1 and 2 and let me say, those games AI are brutal. i would say out of Art Of Fighting 1,2 (i have never played 3), all of the King Of Fighters and all of the samurai shodowns, fatal fury games are the hardest for me. still love them though.
I'm sorry I came out too strong like that. It's just that I thought that SF1 had inferior and choppy controls compared to any SF2 title. It was hard to execute the Hadouken, Shoryken, and Tatsumaki Tenpukyaku in the first game. Plus, I never really gave MK a chance, because imo I thought it was nothing but a gorefest. Still, it's my opinion, and I respect other opinions as well (even though I may disagree some); and I'm sorry if I sounded defensive before.
It's unfortunate that MK is indeed a gorefest because it will always be seen first and foremost as that. But on top of this, it's a much more accessible fighter. Special moves are significantly easier to pull off (no dragon punches or 360 rolls, etc.) and tend to be more interesting / flashy. This makes it more immediately enjoyable for most, I find. After all these years I still screw up some SFII moves, but it took an afternoon to get used to the commands for my favorite characters in MK Trilogy. They're both great series in their own right, though MK stopped being fun after 4.
@starboy street figther 1 is a really brutal and sluggish game (as far as controls go) but what im trying to say is the reason i am happy that it is coming to the virtual console is because i like corny old arcade fighters. lol its just something im into. the reason why i had to call you out is because you claimed that MK is a bad fighting game. nothing personal and i 100% respect your opinion but since i am one of the proud few with a MK avatar on Nintendo life i thought it was my place to stand up for it hahaha i still think your a rad dude even if you don't think mk was a good game!
