Topic: Do you think there will be another Donkey Kong Country game?

Do you think they will ever make a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii or Wii U? Hopefully they will include Dixie or even Kiddy Kong in it.

Hopefully there will be another one. DKC returns proved you don't need K. Rool and the Krem clan to to have an awesome DK country game. I kinda doubt the next game will be a sequel though. It was more of a nod to fans of DKC.
If it was up to me they'd be making a whole new trilogy but I bet it was just a one time thing.

I'm expecting a new one, so yes, but not in a very, very long time.

What we DO need is another Super Mario Sunshine.

It was a big seller for Nintendo so I'm sure we'll see another one. I'd like to see a playable Dixie Kong in it, as well as at least a cameo by K. Rool to explain where he is. Maybe a scene with him behind bars somewhere?

I'm pretty sure we'll see it on the Wii U (and even maybe on the 3ds). When I finished DKCR, though it was a great game, it felt like they could have done more with it, but didn't in order to bring out a sequel later on. The Donkey Kong franchise is a good money spinner for Nintendo, so I doubt that DKCR was a once off game. I think Nintendo's 2d games (mario, donkey kong, kirby, etc) are going to be with us for a while.

Hopefully yes. The game sold a couple million which is rare on the Wii unless your game is about dancing or has Mario in the title.

I expect the next DKC to be a Wii U launch title or Wii U christmas title (late 2012).
You know Retro Studios being extremely fast in making sequels once they got an engine running. (See Metroid Prime)
The bonus artwork in DKCR showed lots of stuff they were already working on.

I'd love to see the sequel on the 3DS tbh. Thouhg a new one for the Wii would be nice. And I wouldn't ignore a Wii U version either. Any way they make it, just make it, retro!

I don't see why there shouldn't be one. DKCR was mildly successful, right? If it does happen, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. DKCR did a good job of turning me into a rabid fan.

I'll pass on that. As for Donkey Kong Country, it sold very well so you can expect another one soon, which I'm totally down for as long as they get rid of the waggle.

Retro's talent is Taking old Franchises and creating Retro revivals that are polished to the point that Super Mario Bros 3 looks like a lazy effort. I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'd prefer to see them create a Zelda/F-Zero/Mario game first.

They have only made one retro revival though.

Sorry but I don't think we'll see a new Donkey Kong Main Series Game on Wii since DKCR came out last year, but on the Wii U there's a huge chance it will happen. :3

I still think a K. Rool Returns game makes way too much sense. DKC2 stuff + return of Kremlings = guaranteed money any time.

If they get rid of the waggle for rolling, and make it like the old controls, I'll be all up for another one.

Doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's actually a great game, it's a shame so many people missed out on it. I would like to see it remade on the 3DS, but there is little to no chance that will ever happen. But, I'm getting off topic so...

To answer the question of this thread: No, I don't think there will be another DK Country, at least not on the Wii.

As soon as they get an original game in the vein of "Returns" on the 3DS we can talk about a sequel on the Wii U. I mean how could Nintendo do a reboot of the series without underwater levels in it ...
