You can probably expect a close release date when a WiiWare game is previewed in the lastest issue of Nintendo Power (Holiday Edition) as Descent has now. According to NP, it will have more than 65 levels (including many from expansion packs), it can be controlled with Wiimote/Nunchuck (with or without MotionPlus) or Classic Controller, and it keeps the original graphics for the most part.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
Does nobody else care about the Descent WiiWare remake, anymore?

I'm interested in this, but I haven't got the latest Nintendo Power issue. Sounds good from the info though. Does Nintendo Power show some screens from it?

Yeah they do, but like I said, there is hardly any graphical update being done from the original version (how else would all those levels fit in 40MB?), so just do a google image search for the original PC version.
The original Descent supported online play for up to 8 players (although only on a LAN), so there probably will be some kind of online multiplayer, but NP doesn't say. I already provided all the new information NP gave out in my previous post.

Did you just accidently misspell the title, or did you purposefully misspell it to make a pun based on your opinion of the game?

Awww... I was hoping that it was gonna have updated graphics... I don't really like retro, ugly 3D graphics on console games. But at least the gameplay seems cool.
The graphics are actually very impressive for a 1995 DOS game, and there will be enhanced textures. Besides, the enemies are all robots, so it's acceptable for them to look blocky.
I guess I should include one last tidbit from the preview: They are considering including Balance Board support.

Yeah, I do! I've owned the original Descent on PC back when it was released way back as well as the PlayStation One release which was pretty close to it's launch. Forsaken the sequel I also bought on PSone and I also owned it on N64 if I remember correctly. I'll definitely buy this again if the control are good as I don't have any copy of the game anymore and the Wiimote might be a cool addition to the game to freshen it up a bit. Maybe a few of the younger gamers will get to experience the fun times to be had with Descent, because it is a great classic game!
