So last night, I went to my SD card menu and got a warning saying that I had " . . .corrupt system files . . ." I reset the system and tried again and it worked fine. Should I be worried?
Well, the likelihood is you'll get cancer, diabetes, heart problems or have a stroke in your lifetime, so you should be worried.
... let's move away from a bad taste joke posthaste. You should be fine, I think your corrupt files came about because, just like a memory stick or something, if you take it out when you are told not to, things can happen. Presumably maybe you removed your SD Card when it told you not to etc
I had that happen once also. It was probably 6 months ago though, and never repeated or had any lasting effect.
I've heard rumors that this can happen after you power down the Wii while playing a game, instead of going back to the Wii Menu first. Haven't seen any proof of that... but it's possible.
It's happened to me several times, but my Wii has never stopped working or anything, I just power-down and reset then everything works fine. Ive heard of plenty of people with this "issue," and nothing bad has ever happened, I don't think it should be problematic. Unless, you know, it appears every time you boot the Wii or is constantly appearing craploads of times throughout the day, then you've got something to worry about. o_o
I've only seen that error once or twice, usually in relation to the Message system and like others have said a simple reset and no further issues seen.
