Topic: Connecting to DVD Player

I'm trying to connect my Wii to my Toshiba SD-P1850 portable DVD player and I don't know how to do it. There's a port that says "AV in" but none of the Wii's AV cables work in it. When I go to the player's "AV in" mode, all I get is a blue screen, whether I have the Wii plugged in or not. Do I need an adapter?

I have no experience of doing this but I did find this Nintendo support page: https://www.nintendo.com/en-gb/Support/Wii/Setup-amp-Connect/...

Problem is the page seems to cut itself off halfway through and repeat itself instead of continuing, which isn't massively helpful. However it does say something about starting to play a movie on it once the Wii is plugged in, then changing the input setting. It seems to be more intended for connecting the Wii to a VCR so I don't know if the same thing would work with a portable DVD player, but it might be worth a try?

Blue screen usually just means nothing is connected. The standard video out for the Wii is composite, which uses 3x RCA connectors - 1 yellow, 1 red & 1 white. According to the manual, the video-in on your DVD player is a 3.5mm jack (looks like a regular headphone jack).

You'll need an adaptor - something like this...https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Splitter-Stereo-Female-Adapter-White/dp/B079DRH6J1

(not recommending this particular adaptor, just the first one that appeared in a search)
