OH Goody.Another thread of moaning about what we haven't got. Just what we needed. There is like 100's of games you guy's could be playing yet you choose to keep harping on about the ones that aren't out. THEY WILL COME WHEN THEY COME,if they don't it's no great loss is it. Relax and play some video games people.
Uhm...both Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Junior where one of the first VC titles in EU and NA. So they both are on Virtual Console.
And for most of the arcade games you mentioned: They have the ports of those games on VC why do you think that they put the arcade versions up there, too?
I still have a feeling that Ninty would release the arcade Donkey Kong & Donkey Kong Jr. in the near future just to get some extra cash.
Oh, and if the arcade version of Street Fighter II Champion Edition is coming to the VC. Then, I don't see why Capcom won't also put out the arcade versions of their games.
Define "large" arcade games. If you mean something like the CPS2 games, I have to disagree with that. Besides, according to system-16, the Maximum ROM size of a CPS2 game is around 322 mb which should be small enough to get by the 40 MB limit.
Didn't you guys read? I am only listing games with some sort of confirmation that are not on the Virtual Console yet. Not just all games.
If you want to actively particapate in this thread correctly, you should do the same.
Well, you already broke your own rule. Earthbound isn't confirmed for the VC. It was rated but removed from the ratings almost immediately, and there are a whole host of legal reasons explaining its impossibility on VC.

I still see an ESRB rating for the VC version of Earthbound on the official site.
@Mark I recall reading that it had been removed, but I don't check ESRB myself. However, Nintendo of America has said it was a mistake that it was submitted for approval in the first place.

Well, I believe you already broke your own rule. Earthbound isn't confirmed for the VC. It was rated, removed from the ratings almost immediately, rated again, and there are a whole host of legal reasons explaining [b]how difficult it'll be to put the game* on the VC.
I hate to argue with you, but with the exception of Fighting Street, no games are confirmed for an Virtual Console release. However, with the exception of Japanese-only licensed games by former publishers, all games have at least a very tiny chance of seeing the light and day on the Virtual Console. Regardless of what you said and the copyright issues, Earthbound is still likely to see an Virtual Console release. Not guaranteen, but could happen.
If Earthbound wasn't coming, people would be sueing Nintendo for the game in 1995 and Earthbound would have to be taken out of stores then, thus being an even bigger failure. No confirmation that it isn't coming, and no confirmation that it's not coming.
Beside, I didn't say "official confirmation", I say "some sort of confirmation". By that I mean a game is likely, but not guarantee for an VC release.
It was not rated again. That sort of thing would make news. And you really don't understand copyright law if you don't see the difference between 1995 and 2009 (not that that's a bad thing... I wish I could erase this from my mind). By the year, these laws have become stricter and more ridiculous. Not to mention Starmen.net have spoken with sources inside Nintendo of America and confirmed that the ESRB thing was a mistake. Yes, it's within the realm of possibility, barely, but it ain't confirmed. Plus, if you really mean "any kind" of confirmation (which by your definition, isn't really confirmation at all but some sort of hunch), Star Fox and Yoshi's Island ought to be on there. Iwata said all first-party titles would be on VC eventually when the VC was first announced. Of course, he promised Earthbound among those, but apparently he did not consult lawyers before making that promise. Believe me, I want to see it on there more than anyone. I dread the day my SNES stops working, or worse, the cartridge itself.
Super Soccer would be an exceptional addition, seeing as it's the best football (soccer) game ever. Anyone know if Human Inc. is still making video games?
