First of all, have you ever played a Castlevania game? If you haven't then I would start with Castlevania Rebirth. It's not the hardest Castlevania game, but you can make it harder by adjusting the difficulty. The game has multiple paths which gives the game re-playability and mid-bosses. However, you can skip the mid bosses by taking the alternate paths, however you have to be careful because sometimes taking the alternate path isn't always the best option. Also, when it comes to sub-weapons, you don't need multipliers like in other Castlevania games to throw more than one of a subweapon. Finally, you can upgrade your whip to the point where you can throw fireballs. The upgrade doesn't last forever, but it comes in handy when you're trying to hit enemies from a distance. Music, bosses, and graphics are good and the game is priced at 1000 points. I've only played 5 Castlevania games which are Rebirth, Super Castlevania, Castlevania(NES), Portrait of Ruin and Dracula's Curse. Super Castlevania is a very good game and if you haven't played it and you are Castlevania fan, I would definitely recommend that you check this one out. You have the ability to whip any direction, crouch, and jump on and off stairs. The game has a good amount of bosses, excellent music and graphics. There's even a hard mood after you beat the game. Also, you can do tricks with the whip which can help in certain situations. If you haven't played a Castlevania game then get Rebirth otherwise get Super Castlevania.

I enjoyed beating the game and all, but I wouldn't say I was in a hard mood afterwords.
