I just got 1000 points, and I have a Castlevania itch that I need to scratch. Anyway, I looked up and saw the original NES trilogy, Castlevania 4, The Adventure Rebirth, and the new Rondo of Blood. I have the remake of the original on my PSP, and I know that Simon's Quest isn't that great, so which one of the 4 should I get. I'm leaning towards Rondo of Blood for it's graphics and sound, but should I get it? Also, should I get Castlevania Judgment while I'm on the subject of Castlevania.
I would recommend getting Super Castlevania 4. In my opinion its the best of the linear series of Castlevania and perhaps the best of all time. I also really like 3: Draculas Curse but its hards as balls. It's your call though. And I haven't played Judgment but from what Ive read the reviews look a little mixed. I guess it depends if your into fighters.

You should get Akumajou Dracula X Chi no Rondo. It's the second best Castlevania game ever conceived, imo, best game in the series being Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
That's not true. Some people actually like Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. I also recall reading some time ago that AVGN reviewed the games that he loves.
Super Castlevania and Rondo of Blood are both exquisite games to own, so I suggest that you get one of these now and save the latter for your next points card

Agreed. You can't really go wrong with either to be honest. I would probably give the edge to Super Castlevania IV but they are both great games.
Having finished both games, I'll be honest: Super Castlevania IV is not really that hard; it's actually easy compared to Akumajou Dracula X Chi no Rondo, which I don't think is too hard. It's not really my favorite, Super Castlevania IV, but it's still worth giving a shot. Oh, and if you're into harder second quests, this game has one. Just wait until the end of the credits, once it fades out, you'll be back at the beginning of the game. But once you progress a bit, you'll fight more enemies than you had to in the first quest. Sad thing is: not everyone is familiar with the second quest.
I like Simon's Quest a lot. I think if you can enjoy games which are apart of a classic series, but different than the norm, then you will enjoy Simon's Quest, just like I really enjoy Zelda II and Super Mario Bros 2 as well. At least give it a shot, you have the right to make your own opinion.

I also looked up that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and the other Metroidvania titles, trace its roots back to Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (nonlinear gameplay wise). Also, I don't like dying the moment you touch spikes. I think that's unfair. I'm glad that Richter doesn't die the moment he touches spikes, but still loses damage.
