I'm talking about the non-Wii Fit video games that are balance board compatible. I hear and read mix reports about how good the Wii balance board is with Shaun White and Wii Family Ski and Snowboard for example for gamers and reviewers. I used to own Rayman Raving Rabbids tv party which was a bit of a laugh on the balance board but if you wanted to get decent scores and unlock everything, you needed to go back to the wiimote and nunchuck. What are your opinions?
I really like We Ski and Snowboard and We Ski, they make great use of the balance board.
A friend of mine used to own that. He was adamant that the balance board was too over sensitive to get a decent control of the ski. Is that true? I found the wii fit ski and snowboard mini games okish
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is the best Balance Board game I experienced (apart from Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus).
I played it at the gamescom. The downhill ski tracks (mariokart-style) are great. The controls are responsive and easy. Shame, there's no multiplayer option for that specific "mini"-game. (I know you can't connect more than 1 Balance Board to the Wii.)
I have only two other games that use the Balance Board. In Wii Music it's a semi-realistic, but cool optional drum enhancement. In Tetris Party it felt gimmicky at first, but one needs a bit of practice, then it's fun.
Oh yes, my girlfriend has " EA active: Personal Trainer " which is BB-compatible, but we haven't tried it yet. I don't like this game that much. It's hardcore and exhausting compared to Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus.

Yes, if you have bad balance. Seriously it's a fun game, I go back to that more than Shaun White (which is awesome) due to the free roaming goodness, the atmos' is great the tunes even drift on the wind, very nice for a 'kiddie game', so to speak.
The idea of "practicing makes perfect" is true with almost all of the games that use the Balance Board, really. I've tried over 5 games using the Balance Board IIRC and I just picked up Skate It last week at a really cheap price and I'm itching to try it out!
Thanks guys. I may wait to see how good Mario and Sonic Winter is with its balance board compatible games before I purchase games like Shaun White and/or Wii Family Ski and Snowboard. I've pre-order Super Monkey Ball Step and Roll as well.
I've tried Skate It before. Good for a laugh with the balance board. BUT if you want serious progression then I think....
