Well, from reading the message I got on the Wii, I think it has to be an NES game. But off-topic, you've been here a while now, and I never noticed how awesome your avatar is, TwistedVivid.
Yeah, the message on my Wii message board just said you get the 500 wii points returned because they want to start distributing the browser for free like with the beta version when the Wii first came out.
My message said I have to get a 500 point NES game. Normally I would be happy about it, but I've already downloaded all the NES games I really wanted, while the large number of games I want in the other categories is glaring at me...
I am the TrueWiiMaster! Those who call the Wii casual BEWARE!
Nintendo's press site states that everyone who bought it for 500 points (sorry Gabe) will receive a free NES game of their choice starting late October
Current games: Everything on Switch
Switch Friend Code: SW-5075-7879-0008 | My Nintendo: LzWinky
Hahaha, you all paid money for a really slow internet browser.
In the end we got refunded. As for slow, I have no idea what you're talking about. Mine's pretty fast and it's connected to a mediocre router on top of that.

My browser isn't slow either. Hahaha, Amorous Badger has a really crappy internet connection!
With regards to the topic, I wonder if you'll be able to gift your free NES game. If you find someone willing to trade you can have them gift you a 500 point SMS/C64/WW game and in return gift them your free NES game.
Actually, I have two PCs and a Wii all hooked up (wirelessly) to the same router and surfing the web on the Wii is significantly slower than using a PC. I'd be interested to know if that is not a universal experience.
Honestly, I don't why you people keep complaining about this free NES thing (here and in the other topic). It's like complaing about the free burger you got at Burger King to a bunch of starving homeless people. At least you getting something. Those of us who got The internet Channel free before they starting charging 500 points for it are getting jack crap. Even if I did pay for the channel, I couldn't get the free game becuase the servers at my college will not allow my Wii to connect to the internet.
Look on the bright side, at least its a NES game of YOUR choice. Nintendo could have chosen the game for you.

It's not. The Opera browser for Wii has it's issues for me, but speed isn't one of them.
