i loved the look of the E3 zelda demo and if those graphics and that design was used for the next zelda game on the wii U, i'd be more than happy with that.
And for the Mario/Colour fans, these E3 graphics dont meant "reallistic", TP graphics were not reallistic at all, but they were able to generate that "suspense" atmosphere that we enjoyed many years ago with a Link to the Past.
Edit: Gah, gosh darn it, apologies for huge image. Only one I could find though. D:
But seriously, I'm down with any kind of art style. It'd just be a big shame if this one went to waste though.
The GameCube had a very similar-looking tech demo, and Nintendo never used that in the final game. But my God that does look beautiful. Nintendo are masters at unique art styles.
EDIT: That can't be running on the actual Wii U hardware. That looks far more impressive than many Xbox 360 and PS3 games! Look at the reflections, the textures, the smooth character models, the lighting! Are those graphics even possible with current PC's?
I'm not the type of person who jumps on the badwagon and likes "realistic graphics." Hell, I don't even like Twilight Princess, but the graphics used in the tech demo are beautiful and it would be a shame if Nintendo let the positive reaction of them to go to waste.

Battlefield 3 at max specs.
Funny thing is the game is running on a revised Twilight Princess engine and was done by the director of TP and a small team on request by anouma.
Kind of crazy how this one engine has given us three very different games.
WAT!

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
No, it's real-time and running on the Wii U. If you look closely you'll see a bunch of optimizations on the spider — the legs for instance, are octagonal. Lots of tricks going on; take away the textures, bump-mapping, and lighting and it'd look pretty bad. Heck, its legs use that effect that Shin'en uses in all their Wii games. The sparsely placed hair looks like 2D textures facing the camera. The biggest giveaways are its shell and belly: flat, maybe bump-mapped textures. Also note the rocks in the background. Very low-poly and relatively low-res textures.
So yeah, it looks like it's more powerful than current-gen consoles, but it's not that advanced.
Oh, and if you want absolute proof, the demo at E3 allowed you to move the camera around and switch the lighting. Something you couldn't do with a pre-rendered cutscene.

Makes me wonder how is nintendo going to cope with long HD development cycles. They thought five years was alot for Skyward Sword.

NEVER mention the CD-i disasters. They even spelled rupees wrong. As far as visuals go, we aren't in Kansas anymore. This is the 8th generation of hardware, and Nintendo isn't going to pull a Wii on us ever again. So of course, it's all done in the system, and it's way better than the Xbox 360. Chances are, it will be almost on par w/ the PS4 & 720.

You can say that about all video games.
I agree.
Why use loads of polygons etc. anyway when you can use "tricks" to create the same effect. It's all about effective use of the medium. I still want cell-shaded though.

because all these tricks will look like crap on my 4k television.
