After seeing the urge for people on here to speak about the current Wii U situation and from a comment on an article on here, I created this forum topic for people to vent on how they feel about the Wii U. Good, bad, indifferent, etc.

Feel free to speak your mind, but please respect others and keep it clean!

I love my Wii U and It has been my most active console of 2013...however, It needs more third party support.
First party titles are great, that's the main reason I have a Wii U. However, In the age of HD gaming it costs more and takes longer to pump out games. So far for 2014 there are how many games announced for Wii U?(excluding Indies) "X"?, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Bayonetta, and Donkey Kong..along with ONE third party game In Watch_Dogs. Is there anymore announced? I don't know, but 6 high profile games is abysmal..I don't know why everyone here thinks 2014 is going to be great. XB1, and PS4 will get far many more games than this of equal if not superior hype...including Halo 5(XB1 only), Elder Scrolls Online, and many more.
I just don't know how the Wii U is going to sell, It Is underpowered, but the Wii brand name is usually laughed at by the hardcore gamers. People moved away from Nintendo due to lack of third party support, so I doubt they will come back.
We might see 15-20 million sales lifetime, but most people aren't interested.

I love my Wii U! I'm enjoying the games that I have and I can't wait to see what will be released in the future.

Good system, poor software library & support.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

I enjoy the system really. Its a nice system but honestly I only use it for VC games and stuff like Netflix. Game wise nothing has excited me and it seems whatever 3rd party games they have on the Wii U the 360/PS3/PS4 get the better versions. I will probably play more of it when Mario Kart 8 comes out or a new Zelda.

I love the Wii U! I'm on it all the time! It does need third party games, but I don't say that because I have nothing to play. I alternate between MH3U and NFS: Most Wanted U, and they keep me busy. When I need a break from those two, I have a few sports games, NSMBU, and for large groups of people, I have NintendoLand. The browser's great, too. The reason I think it needs support is because there are games I want to play, like Battlefront 3 and NFS: Rivals, that aren't coming to Wii U, and I don't want to have to buy a PS4. The Wii U also needs better ports.

Playing it right now. As usual.

You forgot about yarn yoshi, fire emblem x shin, project cars and posably zelda u. Also nintendo is notorious for announcing things last min. Ghost recon hasn't been canceled and I have a feeling dragon quest x is coming plus at least one title from x-seed. Things are gona be all right.

I forgot about Project Cars. I didn't know Fire Emblem x Shin had a release date set. Zelda will probably be 2015, as 2014 would be "too soon" according to Nintendo. Yarn Yoshi should be good to, but I'm waiting for more footage.

Disappointed and underwhelmed, it's done pretty much nothing but gather dust. Very few games are available for it now, and the vast majority, if not all, of the upcoming games are all 1st party games. I know the 64 and Wii were bad with 3rd parties, but so far the U seems to be shaping up to be even worse. Not to mention the system simply lacks the power to play games made for the power of the Xone/PS4, and the online isn't even up to the standards of the PS3/360. But to be honest, I did buy it for first-party games, which do seem to be gathering a good amount of steam.

But, either way, the system has only been out for a year (Or less, I think), and the PS3 launch made the U launch seem masterful.

It's a really cool little console that's been screwed over by terrible marketing, Nintendo's slowness to upgrade to HD and in retrospect, a trying too hard, doing too much launch.

Since I got it at launch it is the only system I play. I have barely touched my PS3 the past year.

I play mine occasionally, maybe once a week or so (unless there's a new update or free app/game/demo that I want to check out). Come christmas and beyond it's going to get a lot more action.

I love my Wii U. It's got some flaws, but it gets turned on almost daily. I must say though, the marketing for this sucks and seems Nintendo will once again be getting the short end from third parties. But overall, good console. Just hard to recommend to non-Nintendo fans.

Its underwhelming and disappointing on many levels so far. There are good games, but there aren't a lot of them that appeal to people who probably on the fence. The delays and lack of marketing aren't helping either.

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

The Wii U has the potential to be awesome console, but 3rd parties refuse to make it shine. Personally, I can't wait when me and my nephew develop games for it.

I only play Wii U and 3DS. I got bored of Xbox 360 and PS3 about a year ago, that's why I don't buy new games for for 7th gen systems.

I understand alot of Wii U games are 7th gen ports/multplats right now, but the system itself is more interesting and has the potential to match up with other 8th gen systems, IMO.
I don't mess with online too much(besides MH3U, COD for now). There's alot to be improved, but I think that Nintendo will get everything straightened out to be "on par" by the time PS4 and Xbox One launch. If you just look at the gradual improvements they've made since launch, it's pretty obvious it's gotten better and they plan to keep improving it. This most likely includes 3DS, accounts, etc.

From my perspective, Nintendo released an unfinished console on an OS level. The GamePad and Wii remote give the Wii U versions of current games the extra push for me to buy a game on it vs. 7th gen systems.

Not to mention I know for a fact that a lot of 3rd party games for 8th gen will be able to run on it, so there really isn't a problem compatibility wise, for the most part. The Xbox One and PS4 exclusives obviously won't work on Wii U, because they code specifically for that platform to the max. I honestly don't see Wii U having trouble getting 3rd party games.

If it were a matter of actually getting the Wii U to run the games, I'd say every single 3rd party game will show up on Wii U. Unfortunately, politics will play a role even though the U.S. government is shut down. The GCN suffered from politics. I think things will work out for Wii U, though.

Wii U isn't a technological step up as a Next-Gen system. The Wii U is a Gameplay difference as a Next-Gen system. Everything is trying to do that "Second Screen" Experience but no one has mastered it. Nintendo released a system that could capitalize on the "Second Screen" experience. While other systems use tech already in the market it requires the player to use a different device to play their game. There are two major problems with that strategy 1) No one wants to be switching between two different controllers to get the "Full Experience" and 2) If you put people on their Smart Phones(or Vita) then they are going to want to do things on their Smart Phone(or Vita). The smart thing about the Wii U's approch is that no matter what you have a second screen that works on your system, you don't have to worry about a new firmware update not working with your device, and you don't have to spend more money on that second device to get a second screen.

No one has given a good enough reason for "Second Screen" experiences but everyone wants to try. With PS4 and XB1 racing to be more powerful, and raising game budgets, it is a race to put people out of jobs. Look at all these big companies and how some of their best games aren't considered "successes" examples: Tomb Raider and Rayman Legends. Nintendo is doing the "Second Screen" experience right, just people aren't ready for that. Microsoft and Sony are giving the players what they think they want but will hurt the industry later. All this is my opinion.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
