I was dumb enough to buy a vita, but I NEVER I repeat NEVER bought ANY games for it, and I had it for a while. Your gonna get left in the dust if you skip on Wii U
I bought a flashlight but never bought any batteries and now the damn thing just sits there being useless. I tried yelling at it for a while but it still wouldn't do anything. What's up with that?

Ok fair enough. But maybe there wasn't anything on the system he liked because there have been very few exclusives worth getting so early in it's lifespan. I know that from just looking at this thread. Some of guys are discussing ports, multiplats, re-releases, and the PSP catalogue when talking about Vita games. And I have seen this elsewhere too.
I don't know enough about his experiences. Maybe he did try a few games out who knows.
.-. .... ok ive been reading some of the posts here ... i honestly dont think your gona get an answer from this. it seems like some people here including me, are pretty biased towards a certain system (which should be expected) because of that you most likely wont get a fair answer here. honestly your better off just flipping a coin to decide. actualy that is a pretty good idea when you think about it ... your interested in both systems, your gona get the other one at some point next year anyway, so it aint like picking one or the other now is gona make you permanantly miss out on something (most likely). so yea ... flip a coin

When the Wii on its death bed is selling about the same number of units as a shiny new portable you've got problems. If Nintendo don't constrain supply too much and Sony don't turn something around we could easily be in a position where global sales of Wii U are higher than those for the Vita by years end. It's not dead and there are still games for it but unless something changes it's as close to a dead system as you can get without announcing a successor.
........but really it depends on what you're after because they're very different systems. For all we know both of these systems could fall flat on their face and lose support rapidly. If you mostly play games at home and enjoy some of Nintendo's first party games then the Wii U is easily the better choice. If you're into more third party titles and are more likely to play games at work/school/UNI or on your commute then the inherent advantages of the Wii U mean nothing and Vita is probably the better option.

Skywake - we don't know if the Wii U will really be that much fun to play with.
We know the Vita is.
Sales figures aside (not that I disagree with you there), in judging the actual merits of the consoles the Wii U is unproven, but the Vita is proven (proof being games like Gravity Rush or Zen Pinball 2 or Ecolibrium which show off the Vita's capabilities).
