Topic: Wii U online and social features

It's been two years.

How would you rate Wii U online and it's social features such as Miiverse?
For example has it gotten better? Is it not improving enough? Miiverse has any potential future?
Satisfied or Not Satisfied?

One thing I am aware of is that Nintendo is considering removing region lock in the future.
Account system improvements will likely occur next generation if not over time this 8th one.

I have been satisfied with all of Nintendo's Online services.

It's awful. No two ways around it. Sure Miiverse is cool and all but it is just so limited. IF Nintendo puts out a companion app for the Miiverse, it would make the gamers much more connected and will definitely be a success.

The social aspect of the PS4 is just miles ahead of the Wii U. The fact that I have to go through 5 minutes of waiting before sending my friend a message is just unacceptable in 2014.

Why do you have to wait for 5 minutes? Takes less than 30 seconds for Miiverse to start up for me. I also think it is unfair to judge the Wii U's online to a paid online such as the PS4. The PS3 would be a better comparison which I think the Wii U is better than that.

The 5 minutes is just a figure of speech. All I'm trying to get at is that the Wii U's social aspect is there, just to be there. It could have been so much better if Nintendo want it to. As of now the features are clunky and not very intuitive. The Warawara Plaza and the Miiverse could have been so much more.

The PS4 social features are not paid. You do not have to be a PS+ member to use the party chat, message and etc. It's a fair comparison considering they are both 8th gen consoles. The only social feature I think Wii U is better than the PS4 is the Miiverse. The rest is not even a comparison.
