@SkywardLink98 Im not defending the Wii U launch either, but lets not say Xbox one or PS4 has system sellers at launch either.
I'd consider Forza and KI to be system sellers for xbox one.
Their scores say otherwise which is my point, they are system sellers to YOU much in the same way Monster Hunter is a system seller for me. They lack that "Must have game" that applies to the large majority of consumers.
The Wii U should fail for trying to push hardware innovation further and offering new gameplay experiences, and the Sony Sophisticated Stale station 4 and BroBoxWarMachineOne should succeed....They should succeed for being down right lazy, and offering the same unexciting rehashed gobbly goop we've all seen before but with more sparkle(Not of the Edward cullen variety) and higher resolutions and all of that other nerdy super ficial jazz that these raging teener wieners get hopped up over these days, because they're just awesome. I'm not taking two more boring trips down to DejavuVille this time. Can't fool this frog.
Instead, I'll be sitting with Miss Piggy at the pond playing Pikmine 3 and dreaming for a Frogger U.
See I;m a bit confused you say that when the Wii U from a games perspective literally has only two new experiences with everything else being an extension of what's came before.
On topic I think the xbox one and PS4 launches get more leeway since there won't be a gap in software between launch and the launch window. Between that and the PS4/XBone launches having more variety in games.

The PS4 sold 1 million units in 24hrs. I don't think Sony are too concerned that you don't think any of their launch games are "system sellers".
Without quality software, those sales numbers will plummet after all the fans buy one
But those numbers for both systems alone and accidental evidence of working at a big box retailer suggests that more than the fans are buying the, realistically if it were only the fans buying the systems the sales would be in line with the Wii U Launch sales like everyone predicted. I know everyone wanted a big drop off and its still possible but highly unlikely just going by the software releases for the Bone/PS4.

at this exact moment unless you're a FPS fan you're better off getting a 3DS if you want variety or a previous gen console(they even have FPSs )
games take time to be made and can't be released before the console(not counting ports to consoles that are alerady out) that's why console launches are always a mess....
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
now working at IBM as helpdesk analyst my Backloggery
That's pretty much my beef with the gamepad as whole in that it seems like Nintendo isn't sure what to do with it. When I look how the Wiimote was used in such cool ways, and than look at the Gamepad I feel a bit sad. Even with the games you mentioned I feel only two of them do something really new and nothing that was obvious.
I do agree that Capcom and Konami haven't been on their A game as of late. It seems that both have hit on hard times with Capcom needing to Partner with the big three to get games done, and Konami only interested in PES, Metal Gear, and 3D castlevaina. In that case they still ignore the Wii U despite this being a good chance to build up a PES fanbase on Nintendo consoles seeing as there's no way in hell that PES will ever touch fifa on the other two consoles.

Monster Hunter would be a system seller for me, were it not on the 3DS.
I kinda wished MH4 was originally a Wii U title...Wii U sales would be skyrocketing at this point, lol
Problem is, it would be in Japan only. Monster Hunter is still too niche in the west to be a system seller over here. And maybe I'm wrong, but don't the console Monster Hunter games sell less than the handheld ones? I thought Tri sold alot less units than the PSP MH games.
I can't remember, lol...but Wii U sales would still be going up a lot.
Not really. The whole appeal of Monster Hunter is its portability.
That's an opinion. It's not like a home console version can't exist along side a portable. I'm guessing you must think Phantasy Star Online is a portable game, too...
I would actually prefer MH on a home console, but I'd rather have a portable version AND a home console version. Meh.
EDIT: I'm guessing you think that, because it became popular on PSP before becoming even more popular on 3DS?

Here I thought the whole appeal was the hundreds of hours of gameplay, great customization, large open world, extensive crafting, challenging and rewarding bosses, and multiplayer.
@skywake I think inFAMOUS: Second Son could very easily be the killer app for the PS4. Heck, I haven't played a Sony console since the good ol' PS2 and I'm thinking of jumping back to it solely for that game. I still haven't found myself a killer app for the Wii U yet, and I'm looking for every excuse to buy one.
Have you played the first InFamous? It really wasn't all that. It's a good game, but it's definitely not a great game. I pretty much just got by shooting the bad guys with my sniper powers from across building rooftops. And once I cleared it, the game never made me want to play it all over again. It's the typical action game, nothing more. I don't know what the big deal is waiting for its sequel if it's going to be the same thing as the last...especially since the storyline at the end of the game made it pretty much impossible to have a sequel.
I hadn't bought a nintendo system since the SNES, ever since I've been buying Sony. But, this generation I got BORED of playing the same old thing on PS3. It was like playing on PS2, but without any of the excitement. Before I put down any money on Sony or Microsoft this time, I will patiently wait until they get an exclusive-to-its-generation GOTY candidate, and not a moment sooner.

I'ma let you finish, but Gamecube and PS3 both had a huge amount of great exclusive content.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
