We have known about that Game X since like when the Wii U was first announced, same with that Fire Emblem game, and we STILL know nothing about them. So it will likely be a while before you hear stuff about Zelda

We know a fair amount about X, its real name is Xenoblade Chronicles X and was shown off at E3 this year.

So in like 3 years we have got a name, seen a trailer, and you consider that a 'fair amount'?

I just went to the games Wikipedia page, and the whole article is like 3 paragraphs long haha. Nothing is known about the story and next to nothing about he gameplay. Check out the official Nintendo page on the game

http://e3.nintendo.com/games/wiiu/xenoblade-chronicles-x/

It's got three bullet points about the game. That's not a 'fair amount' by any stretch for a game that has been in development for three years.

FWIW, here's 43 minutes from the Treehouse about Xenoblade Chronicles X at E3.

Haha my bad then! I have no interest in this game and it's never been on my radar, so I had no idea there was even this much of it ever shown off before.

That said, it will be a while before we ever see this much of the new Zelda game.

"Are we going to be clueless on the biggest game in the wii u's lifecycle until mere months before its release?"

I think I understand your misguided rage and pain. Zelda U will NOT be the biggest game in the Wii U's lifecyle. That will be either MK8 or SSB, if the history of NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube and the Wii are anything to go by:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games...

MK8 just recently released and will be bundled in w/ the Wii U this holiday and has DLC coming out this Nov and next May 2015. SSB will hopefully be releasing in the next couple of months, or the next several at the latest. These are the games that will sell the best, these are the games that will sell the Wii U the best, these are the games that Nintendo is using to market the Wii U this holiday, December 2014, while the other systems get Destiny, AC:Unity and CoD:AW.

Nintendo has always been very limited with their marketing and advertising. I for one am happy they are making a go of selling the Wii U this year on the back of MK8 and SSB, and 3rd party exclusives Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2, and amiibo for the kids. Showing more of a game that won't be released until late 2015 at the earliest just gives people more of a reason to PUT OFF buying a Wii U until next year, and that's not helping anybody at all, sorry.

There will be plenty of time after the holidays and all of next year to show off Zelda U, and XCX, after consoles are sold on the back and strength of the Wii Us biggest games, SSB and MK8. And then maybe in 2016 after Zelda U releases we can finally get a proper follow up to Super Mario Galaxy, which will also sell better than Zelda, but everybody who wants it will already own a Wii U by then

At the very least we might see something at the next big company wide Nintendo Direct, but your best bet is a blowout reveal at E3 2015 with the name, story details, and gameplay alongside a 2016 release date.

Nintendo's being secretive because they only have first party titles to lean on so the focus has to be on what's coming to the system first and Zelda while being isn't that you know big. Plus Nintendo doesn't show up to trade events like Gamescom and doesn't participate in the VGAs further limiting where they can show games. Microsoft and Sony can show their games a year or two in advance because they have the third party developers to back them up but also use things like betas to advertise. Plus the way they work there are far more insiders for those two than Nintendo.

WAT!

True but Zelda doesn't sell well in Japan which is Ninty's biggest region (see link below to see it's US/Euro sales against Jpn's) where as Mario Kart & Smash Bros does well in every region although if Zelda was big in Japan the other 2 will still probably sell better but with a much, much thinner margin however in Euro/Us Zelda is still a system seller which people (especially "hardcore" gamers) will buy a console for in the region it needs the most strengthening.

I predict we'll get some info at E3 2015, and they'll say that it's releasing in late 2016, early 2017 at E3 2016.

Considering the deadline is due next year they'd have to come across some really huge problems for the games deadline to be pushed 24 months.

I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a early/mid 2016 game, but 2017 sounds pretty ridiculous.

Hopefully they'll manage to bring it out late 2015.

Skyward Sword was unveiled at E3 2009, and released late 2011, so I was assuming a similar schedule. It would be nice if it releases in 2015 though.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I would think Skyward Sword is different. With that game, we got nothing more but a conceptual picture and no title at E3 2009. Then the full reveal E3 2010.

With this game, however, we've gotten footage already, but no title. Which would imply it's a lot further along than Skyward Sword was during E3 2009. Hopefully we'll get a Nintendo Direct early next year announcing the full title of the WiiU game. Then a fully playable demo at E3 2015 alongside a release date set for late 2015.

maybe e3 2015, or a pre e3 event, but they seem confident the game wil be ready on 2015

this is when I thank them, at least we are not waiting 8 years for this game...for example final fantasy versus 13 which then became final fantasy 15.. and it was announced back in may 2006, and there is nothing, NOTHING yet....instead they decided to create lightning extravaganza (which I like XD)
