Topic: What genre of gaming does the Wii U needs badly? JRPGS!

I think more RPG's (WRPG & JRPG) are needed period. Need to convince Bethesda that Elder Scrolls would be a good idea on Wii U and Square Enix that games like FF belong as well. More games of all genres really could apply here. Except maybe platformers they seem to be alive and well on Wii U.

Agreed fully.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Yeah, if they need more people to buy Wii U's, Nintendo needs to put a Pokemon game on Wii U that hardcore pokemon fans simply can't refuse. As one of those fans myself, I can vouch for this. (even though I already have a Wii U)

I think the WiiU either needs Metroid to be more like Halo (which I would prefer not to happen personally) or that it needs a FPS with the same addictive gameplay as COD to appeal to kids & teenagers.

The FPS genre is the biggest genre at the moment after all.

At least we got these http://www.gamesradar.com/upcoming-wii-u-games-new/

Which this Sacrilegium game sounds cool and I don't recall hearing of it before.

We are the closest Nintendo has ever been to making this a reality, I think. Pokemon Stadium on the N64 was a great proof of concept.
Now with the Game Pad, it's such a natural marriage of handheld game and HD big screen graphics. Can't wait!

I still think Star Fox could make a comeback if they did it right. an Online multiplayer game with customizable Arwings, tank and foot warfare possibly , maybe throw some mech combat in there. That needs to happen this generation at some point. I don't think Platinum games would do it that way since they do games in such a more niche way. I personally would love a Platinum games made Star Fox though.

I don't think Metroid should lose its originality and what makes it unique BUT... I do think the gameplay really needs to appeal to a broader audience like the COD crowd.

@OptometristLime Man, we really need a Pokemon HD game for Wii U. It could become a HUGE system seller.

Nah, they can advertise to the COD fans without changing much (this is literally what Bioshock Infinite did). Just have a Hunters 2 mode but with a few things vaguely similar things to COD and COD ads and we're good.

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

Edit:
Since the Wii U is backwards compatible with the Wii, there's also the entire Wii catalogue of JRPG:s like Xenoblade and The Last story.

I wonder what happened to Dragon Quest X? Does anyone know?

Dragon Quest X is Japan only. Total bummer but that's how we get treated in the West.

Pokemon HD?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Pokémon Stadium HD!!! all the features that have been split in various apps since th GC now all in one again!
I mean Pokémon stadium had almost all!! minigames, almost a story mode(Gym Leader Castle, it was shallow and small but it kinda had a story), a Pokémon Bank like feature, Mystery Gift, competitive battling, custom rules and even a mode to play the handheld games on TV!! it only didn't have smaller features and a proper story mode(with places explore, catch Pokémon and everything)

goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

A main series type entry would be much more of a system seller or a proper Skylanders type Pokemon game, personally I'd love to see a new Pokemon Snap.

Pokémon was never a system seller outside the handhelds. but a new Pokemon Snap would be the best Pokémon spin-off since, well, Pokémon Snap!

A Pokemon console game can be done as long as it isn't hamstrung like the GameCube games were. I'd suggest making a 3D remake of one if the Older games.

I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen adaptions of the Pokemon tcg in a while.
