I myself only actually played TP for the first time in 2014 and I loved it and that's why I'm against a remake so soon. It doesn't feel dated at all except for some typical Wii control things. It feels totally too soon to make a splash with a Wii remake at this point. The WiiU isn't distant enough imo. Other than that I wish I could prevent this entire generation from being one huge Zelda remake. This would be the 4th remake. Why can't we redo an older Zelda game first? I always wondered what the GB(C) games would look like if we redid them for the 3DS. I guess nobody but me is thinking about Links Awakening or Oracle of Seasons & Ages with ALBW game design. /dribble
@Octane: I kinda meant that they rendered the models in HD, but I wasn't sure whether they updated them or not, thanks. Anyway, I'm hoping TP HD is one of those titles that hasn't been announce but is coming before Christmas. I also want a FRAKING DIRECT NINTENDO
@rishisquid: Don't get your hopes up. Seeing how Wind Waker got its own physical release and even a Wii U bundle, TP HD is going to get a physical release for sure. It was one of the best selling Zelda games, they're not going to release the game in silence as an eShop exclusive. If there was a physical release, we would've known by now. It's extremely unlikely that we're going to get TP HD this year.
That said... it's a darn shame that games focus on visual HD remakes but not audio remakes. It would've been wonderful for WWHD to have a soundtrack of more full instruments.
It's got a few re arrangements though. The thing is, does the music need to be remade in TP? There are a lot of factors that affect that decision, TP OST is not orchestrated but it doesn't really needs to. Most of the songs have aged quite well while some could be updated, but not necessarily orchestrated. Midna's Lament comes to mind, the song is awesome, but you can tell the use of virtual instruments, wich in this song don't sound THAT great.
I hope Nintendo give TP OST the same treatment as OoT 3D and WW OSTs.
@DarthNocturnal: I'm seeing other news that the transcript didn't cover large chunks of the event so either way it's just a case of waiting for the Direct.
I'd like to see Adventure of Link remade. It's different, and a remake could fix all of the horrible fake difficulty.
Come to think of it, Zelda 1 hasn't gotten a straight up remake either (that BS-X version doesn't really count). Maybe they feel all the improvements of the 2D games would make it too easy (swings instead of stabs, free / plentiful arrows, hints that aren't vague)?
I totally was thinking a Zelda 1 or Adventure of Link remake, it feels like they'd never touch Z1 because it would anger fans or have totally mixed reviews. Adventure of Link also feels nearly forgotten because it's really weird. But a total modern redo or either would be awesome, I just can't ever see them doing it. Maybe people just don't care either, they're not talked about or seemingly loved as much as the ones made after 1997.
@Freeon-Leon: Don't get me wrong--I'm not saying use ONLY orchestral instruments--or even live instruments, for that matter. But as someone who uses Finale [and... well... the VST instruments used in that program aren't great], I recreate Midna's Lament on my $300 program. Since its release in 2006, there have been advances in audio quality just as there have been advances in visual. It would be grand if they used that to their advantage when doing remakes.
As for the rest of the OST, don't get me wrong again: Twilight Princess has my favourite Overworld theme (I have yet to play SS and a couple of the handhelds). It sounds great as it is, but I know that t could sound more rich with more authentic instruments via the same arrangement.
I have a theory. What If the Zelda Wii U game IS the Twilight Princess HD remake? I mean think about it, It is possible because Zelda Wii U is going to release in 2016, and that would probably apply to TP HD as well. Or maybe the tech demo from E3 is TP HD and we have no idea what the Zelda Wii U game looks like? OR even if Zelda Wii U and the Twilight Princess HD remake are separate entities, doesn't that mean the TP HD is just a distraction from the Zelda Wii U game? EDIT I found a video kind of explaining what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRucfG__QNk
Uh...the information about the Wii U Zelda game shoots your first theory to bits. Nintendo clearly informed us that they showed a new game.
With that said, Zelda U could move to NX.

@Haiassai: You're totally right. I'm sorry, I thought you meant that, since many were complaining about the non-orchestrated OST "imposed" by the evil Miyamoto.
Something that's about the quality of ALBW soundtrack would be amazing. But that'll depend on what kind of remake they decide to do.

I think you need about 4 more layers of thinking before you type this stuff.
@Freeon-Leon: haha it's alright. I suppose I'm one of those angry people... and will still argue for live instruments (not orchestrated instruments--live. There is a difference! The wonderful sounds of WW were not made by instruments in an orchestra [like acoustic guitars, pan whistles, and djembes]) However, for remakes, I wouldn't mind digital instruments. Just use better ones!
@Haiassai: You have to admit Ryo Nagamatsu did an amazing job in ALBW. Although there's some instruments that just can't be replicated with VSTs, like a guitar. Luckily a sound engineer of EAD 2 (or whatever it's called now) plays the guitar and has recorded some bits for Zelda games.
@Freeon-Leon: I think it was a stellar job. Granted... ALttP was my first Zelda game and I have a bias. Even with the OST having dated sounds, I felt that ALBW's Lorule Overworld theme wasn't as full as I had liked. Even extending the phrases would have satiated me. But that's me being finicky And THOSE instruments I wouldn't mind for a TP remake. Though... I still would like the arrangements full (after all... TP's Overworld theme, as mentioned before, is my fav of the entire series)
Well, I can't think of any Zelda remake or re-release where they remade/upgraded the music. I think it's safe to assume this one would go the same route.
Not sure what people will think of this but what if they're planning twilight princess hd as an NX launch? There hasnt been any confirmation its on wii u besides the HD and it would be a nice easy win for them to kick the NX off with.
@Morpheel: They've done that before. OoT 3D has a slightly different OST, it's cleaner than in OoT 64. Although in WW HD the difference is more noticeable.
