@renaryuugufan92
I think this is around the time reviewers/youtubers get copies of games from Nintendo. It was like this for XCX. I believe a lot of the Youtubers have demos, or are reviewers, which makes sense why a lot of them have a copy.

I wish those morons voicing that Eurogamer preview were mute. What an insufferable anti-hype this all is!

I mean, sure, the remake itself is not the best, but people doubting the quality of the source material are lunatics. Go play the Witcher 3 and drool over its war-ravaged peasant textures ya buncha blowhards.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

I wonder if the Wii remote controls being left out paves the way for the Wii version to be released on the eshop.

It's VGchartz so take it with a grain of salt, but:
http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders/42393/USA/

I've said before that Twilight Princess is basically the 3rd most popular Zelda game ever. (behind Zelda 1 and OOT) Not just in terms of sales but in terms of relevance (helped by being the big hardcore Wii launch title).

@kkslider5552000: If those numbers are correct for NA pre-orders, that means TPHD is going to sell more copies in one day than Mario Kart 8 did in its first week, lol. VGChartz can be pretty useful, but pre-order predictions are usually way off.

Ralizah

It's #8 on the best-selling list of video games and video game accessories right now on Amazon. Not too shabby. If Nintendo plays its cards right at E3, Zelda U will probably have some crazy number of preorders.

I want to play the game un-mirrored but at the same time I want a challenge~ decisions

@Ralizah I expect Zelda U's pre-orders to go through the roof after the 30th anniversary Zelda direct that we should be getting either this month or after the release of TPHD.

Only possible with the Ganondorf amiibo, AFAIK.

@renaryuugufan92: I could see them saving more details for E3. At most beforehand we'll probably get get info about what amiibo do in the game.

It's not entirely unreasonable when you consider that the Wii U install base is twice as large now as just before Mario Kart 8 came out (6.17 million as of March 31st 2014 compared to 12.70 million as of December 31st 2015). Zelda games also tend to be massively frontloaded compared to an evergreen franchise like Mario Kart, not to mention we're talking about NA here, which has been the market for Zelda since its inception.

Edit: And most games sell most of their stock within the first few days. It doesn't take much to outdo a week's worth of sales since most of that comes from those initial days anyway.

I think the whine about how the game looks and runs is a bit unfair. As someone who has a PC that would be able to run this at 1080p/60fps in an emulator with no issue? Probably with some of those HD texture packs that people go on about even. I'd still prefer this HD remake.

Really this is looking more and more like the same deal as the Wind Waker remake. Spec for spec, the same sort of improvements across the board. The only technical difference being that unlike Wind Waker this remake is maintaining 30fps while Wind Waker HD suffered more regular drops. So the criticism is more a case of people being more willing to cut Wind Waker some slack because of the art style. Nothing more.

Someone who sees things similar to me? o.o Skywake Thank. you!! I swear people forget that Wind Waker HD can drop as low as 20fps whereas TPHD only drops to 27 according to DF. Not bad for a "lazy port" as many are labeling Twilight Princess HD. Which we both agree isn't fair because TPHD has alot more texture re-working and effort put into it to make it look great on HD screens in contrast to the simple and easy work done on Wind Waker (resolution boost from 480p, textures converted to work on Wii U hardware, and Zelda U's lighting and shading engine, which wouldn't have worked with TPHD's artstyle to begin with) which only took six months. So, objectively out of the two you could argue that Wind Waker HD is the lazier remaster due to how quick and easy it was given the fact that frame drops like this

are still in the game, but its still a great game they both are and its frustrating to see the backlash on the latter of the two >.>. Both games are great in the end and I'm glad they got remastered, now can we just enjoy them?

I'll end this note with a new DF video speaking of them XD

tbh, I don't know of a single HD remaster (that was actually a game remastered to now be in HD and not just a blatant lie) that's been a complete success. Even Shadow of the Colossus remaster had some notable physics issues IIRC.

Wind Waker HD's slowdown was annoying, but more because Wind Waker HD is such a smooth looking game. I legitimately didn't realize it wasn't 60 FPS until more than halfway through. I'm not one to even get that annoyed by it if it only rarely happens but those rare moments were sooo disappointing because it's Wind Waker. It's meant to be smooth looking, more than most games even.
