Imagine if you will a most bright and wondrous world. All designed in the iconic style of the Animal Crossing series. Whereupon you are the major of a serene secluded town surrounded by wilderness, A wilderness infested with massive beasts and creatures. As such you're both tasked with the ability to slaughter and hunt these monsters for both weapon upgrades/customisation in the classic "Monster Hunter" fashion. Whilst still being given the ability to likewise design and fabricate your own furniture from the looted materials you've gathered from both the untamed environment and these majestic creatures. Essentially it'd a massive multiplayer game that combines the everyday serenity Animal Crossing is so known for, with the more monster-slaughtering tactic based elements of Monster Hunter
I merely thought it may be amusing to go out alongside friends on a Hunting/Foraging party,
And then celebrate one anothers successes later that evening to the sound of K.K Slider and a warm cuppa coffee.
It'd make for a relatively unique online cooperation/communication game
You sir have hit the nail on the head. I fully see your vision and I think it is a brilliant one. Endless hours of fun relaxing or engaging gameplay to be played as you see fit. As for the art style being like Animal Crossing I think that would be great, but even if it looked like Monster Hunter that would work too. As for a cross-over title I'd say no. It should become it's own IP and find positive ways to DO BETTER what AC and MH already do.

I actually like this idea, as long as you don't mean literally a crossover game, because there's no reason to combine the two. It would just be too weird, and it's way too different from Animal Crossing to really make sense. A new IP with this style would be interesting, though.
Of course a brand new Identity would be preferable, I merely used the two separate games as examples. As they're both all to unique, and were quick ways of visualising my lil' vision. Though what would then be fascinating to witness in such a conceptual scenario is how the local multiplayer/save files work out. Merely imagine having multiple people living within the same village, whereupon some could willingly choose between becoming the town decorator/hunter or even possibly both. It'd be the perfect co-op game for those with entirely separate play-styles and interests
You'll conceivably be returning to a town of peaceful townsfolk between hunting sessions, merely to catch a breath of fresh air and prepare yourself for the next hunting/foraging expedition. Though you could also conceivably take along a few willing townsfolk who might be willing to assist you throughout your battles (Especially if you have no online friends/comrades to play alongside). Merely imagine such unique characters as Rasher running alongside you, critiquing you on your fishing abilities whilst he himself battles against some gigantic fish-esque monster
