Topic: System Update?!

Does anyone know what the new system update for the Wii U adds "if anything"?

Stabilization, probably.

@Meowpheel Aha! There's a little something extra, the Wara Wara Plaza seems to have more Mii's then before! Before it was just your friends and 100 random Mii's, but I counted about 150 randoms just now...regardless it's still a pretty lame update, but that stability seems better than before!

Sweet! I can look forward to getting onto a more stable Wii U later!

It added Gamecube Virtual Console, cross-buy with all 3DS games, and full Gamecube controller support!

I haven't received an update so I'm thinking this one is the January 2016 one.

@Grumblevolcano erm...I just got the update and I've never heard of anyone receiving an update over a half a year after its release, plus I wouldn't have been able to use Miiverse or the eShop.

Seems like I typed too soon. I booted up my Wii U for a few minutes last night, and it didn't pick up any new updates even though my internet was functioning.

@Trinexx Perhaps it was a glitch update? Is it possible to receive a "ghost" system update even if there isn't an actual update available? :scratch:

@Rukiafan7: That's a good question, one that I don't have an answer to, unfortunately.

The only other possibility that I can think of is that some game software or application on the system was updated, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
