Was hoping for Rool at least...but I'm fine with Bayonetta.

I actually really wanted a dragon FE character in Smash and though Corrin would be a cool choice. Never did i expect it would actually hapen and this soon! Also, BAYONETTA! I love you Sakurai!

I'm happy because of Bayonetta. Never thought she'd make it in Smash.

Cue incoming whiny fanboys complaining that ____ character should have made it in instead.

I'm hyped for Bayonetta like you wouldn't believe, Cloud isn't my favorite character but he looks cool enough, and Corrin is kinda "meh" as far as character selection, but his moveset looks pretty neat.

Solid 8/10 Direct for me. The remaining two points are off because no Inklings and/or Layton.
Bayonetta was a mouth-wide-open-scream-nonsense but totally awesome shocker, though. Corrin is a big "eh" because another he's yer another Counter or bust character. Cloud is still good in my book.
The tiny saltiness in me? Ryu. Gladly take my requested characters over him any day. Otherwise I enjoyed this Direct.

Since Bayonetta is in, I wonder how much they're going to censor her due to the E10+ rating.

Both of those characters surprised me. I'm more surprised by Corrin, though. I didn't really expect that character, especially when we don't even have the game yet. All that's left is to wait. By the looks of things, people are going to go up in flames, though.

And with Bayonetta we also have a giant biblical bloody demon in smash. That's new too.

We have to remember, there was never, ever any guarantee that there would be more than one winner. At least as far as I remember.

My guess now is that the ballot was merely a suggestion poll for fighters they were already considering... Think about it, now is the perfect (and possibly only) time to add Bayonetta because of Bayonetta 2 — but would they really do it if they thought she wasn't popular enough? I think they were looking for answers to these kinds of questions through the ballot.

I am soooo happy that platinum is being honored in this way. They real deserve it.

I mean, Bayonetta is cool and stuff but no where near my first choice. I'm pretty bummed we won't be seeing Banjo/Kazooie. I'm pretty surprised she was the worldwide #1 to be honest. I mean, her second game popped up on the Wii U and that alone was a reason for the majority to vote for her? Seems like a waste when there is a plethora of other characters with a bigger and better Nintendo history that people could have voted for.

He mentioned something about her being "negotiable". I wonder how the talks with other companies (if any) went down...

I find it fishy that she had more votes than Shante, Shovel Knight, and many others.

I kinda assumed Hades at first...

@Bigtime She was not #1 worldwide, supposedly she was #1 in Europe and top 5 in the US.
