Now that Disney has completely abandoned the Star Wars 1313 game do you think it would be possible for Nintendo to acquire it. Definitely since Iwata is said to be opening up their budget and closely watching the western trends. I definitely think would be a freakin' ace up their sleeve if they gotvit. They have more then enough money and this would most definitely bring new gamers on board with the Wii U.

Slim to nil possibility. While I wouldn't be at all surprised if Nintendo was approached at some point about one of the projects (the Wii U one, likely)... My experience tells me that these things rarely see the light of day once abandoned, sadly. How many boarded up shops do you see reopen?

It really is a shame because there was clear potential with intent to realize, but now those teams and developers are likely unrecognizable, if existent at all. Cruel, shrewd business.

Um, no. Disney owns the Star Wars franchise, Lucasfilm, and all subsidiaries and franchising rights. There is absolutely no way that Nintendo could/would acquire it.

Well Nintendo would probably need to acquire Mega Man, Ace Attorney, Rune Factory, etc. first

Similar to how they licensed the rights to publish Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, they could feasibly do the same again depending upon the extent of the contract EA signed. Point is, they aren't likely to do it to save these projects at this point.

It's a novel idea considering these are some vacated (seemingly due to Disney's lack of intetest in Star Wars-related game investments) projects with working content and potentially lucrative visions. No doubt, Nintendo needs to comb the depths to establish Wii U development. I'd love to see it, I just seriously doubt the viability of such a process after all this time.

Would Nintendo maybe go back in time and attempt to save what was looking to be a significant Wii U exclusive, along with another potential exclusive? It's possible under ideal circumstances, but I think Disney was determined to amputate all unnecessary, costly investments while forging ahead with the singular vision to leverage the brand around a new blockbuster to pimp endlessly. That is, until they release the next one...

There is no sentimentality or compassion or respect with how these deals are carried out. It's all cold, all calculating, all capitalizing.

Nope, EA owns all the licenses to Star Wars games now since Disney gave them the rights to make games. So we won't be seeing any Star Wars games on Nintendo platforms in the future.

And since EA is the one making the games, none of the games will be worthwhile to play.

The studio behind it was shut down and all the employees were let go. There's nothing left for Nintendo to pick up even if they wanted to.

EA owns the rights to Star Wars for the reason that Disney is being very pciky about what content is coming out Games, comics, and novel wise for the. Ew universe.

Always online that doesn't work at first
Broken games at launch then fixed later
Micro-transactions with ads to boot!

Seems worthwhile to me
