It needs to be said; what kind of sick, squid society sends 14 year-olds off to kill each other over and over? They coat them in war paint and pit them against one another. Presumable the two different colors are reactive compounds that instantly explode upon contact with one another. And then, perhaps the greatest cruelty of all, they clone the now-deceased squid kid and send the new version off to kill and die in an endless cycle. They're animals! Well, you know, metaphorically; besides the squid thing.
@Haru17.... Um, what? LOL
I can't wait for this game, but I'll feel bad if I have yet another game to complete while other games sit in the backlog... and I can't even start doing much because of the exams I'll be writing by the time Splatoon comes out. And do I have a backlog of games to complete on the Wii U alone.... SHEESH.

Another issue is that people who have guns focus a lot of their attention on shooting.
Fancy that.
Well, selfish idiots are a problem in any online game, especially T/FPS. When the game is capture the flag or cover the most territory shooting at enemies rather than following the objective is a detriment to the team.

Wow. I worded that terribly. I mean to say that they focus on killing rather than doing their job. @Haru17 true, this exists for all FPSs, but I feel that many people are into their own game NOT because they are selfish but because they lack direction or aren't using the map enough.
Personally, I think the fact that the game rewards those who splat more ink gives a great disadvantage to shooters [even though I've seen #1s be from snipers. I applaud those individuals].

Breaking the law is breaking the law whether you know it or not. They're being selfish whether they know it or not.

Mm... that analogy is way too broad of a blanket statement for me to agree. After all, "no passing on the right" is based solely on intent. Plus, I don't even know if that analogy is applicable. Selfish is entirely derived from intent. They may be harming their team if they're just firing aimlessly. You an call them a newb, but selfish? That's... a bit strong, imo.

During the 1-hour test I played, I got quite a few matches where someone clearly misunderstood the purpose of the game. Like 12-1 hits, 0 points. OTOH, such players will be stuck in in Turf War forever, since they can never level up to Ranked Battle.

Little bit low bringing that here, mate.
More importantly, what I've noticed from the Global Testfire is that rollers are worthless in combat, but make covering ground easy while chargers are amazing for killing, but pretty useless in terms of covering ground. It makes it logical to try and form roller/charger teams so a charger can keep the roller alive while the roller does what the roller does. But obviously, this will change in the main game, as we get more weapons and thus more variety.

Well you know, some of us are talking about Splatoon here based on having played it. Others are talking about what they think Splatoon is based on a few bits of footage. I'm cool with the latter but not when it gets to the point where we're not really talking about Splatoon anymore in the Splatoon thread
