Not really the same as Mac I'd say.

Whelp, I played the testfire demo for 30 minutes and kinda felt like taking a break...

Yesterday, I wish it lasted longer... but today I wasn't really feeling it, maybe the turf war gamemode is just getting repetive for me... perhaps the final game would be much better with the different map, weapon, and gamemodes offering more to hold my attention.

On another note... it seems like the roller got a little less effective in this testfire. I've been using it, and my success is rather mediocre in comparison to yesterday. I still won every single game in the half hour I played, but I had a lot more death ratio, almost even with my kill ratio, unlike last night which seemed like the rollers decided the game and the rollers usually had a higher kill ratio. Right now I'm not convince it's "broken" but it is definitly the noob weapon of the game that is easy to use for everyone.. the only issue is how effective it will become in the right hands, since obviously nobody here is technically good or "MLG" yet... just have to see how better players will abuse it and understand the game's tatics more. If it gets nerfed, it's an understandable one.. but if it doesn't, I'm totally fine with it as it's not that game defining until late game when the opponent can make a sudden recovery in an otherwise obvious defeat.

But anyway.. yesterday I was interested in buying the game, but I think I might hold off now as it seems like one of those games I'd buy, then leave on the shelf for a year after a week of gameplay. If I ever have spare change and nothing else to really purchase or save for, or people start begging me to stream it, then I'd pick up splatoon.. but it's not going to be as much of a priority as I originally hoped for.

I just played a bunch of matches, at the very least it's ok in terms of gameplay, wish I could adjust the controls, I wouldn`t really play it very much if I had it, would mostly play with friends with strangers but of course you can`t play with friends in the full version. Went to see how much it was and it's $80 digitally where I am, and on top of that I would need to spend another $35 or more for the amiibo's, even more once the DLC comes out, I say I will be skipping this game, too bad that the demo can`t be played after today.

Other then that I will still get the mii costumes in smash since inklings are a interesting character and would be used a bunch I would say.

Enjoyed myself but communication still feels lacking.

All you would hear is screaming and cursing and someone trying to boss someone else around.

I think a lot of you must have weird accents or lack social skills/confidence because a large portion of people here seem to fear talking to other humans. It's not that scary, and it actually makes playing online games a lot more enjoyable, believe it or not.

And in Splatoon if all you could talk to was your teammates, (and Nintendo users are apparently more "sophisticated" than the "dudebros" on Xbox and PS4 according to opinions here), what would be the problem? Sounds like it would be a good community to talk to, no? This game doesn't seem to attract the testosterone fueled "blood and guts" crowd either, so I couldn't imagine there would be tons of anger and aggression (again, especially if you were talking with three other teammates)

Yes, people are going to learn how to beat roller players, but since the game is based on territory covered rather than kills, it's insane how much ground is covered by the roller. What I will say is, I think things are going to change a LOT once people can team with their friends and use (external) voice chat. Being able to strategise and pick off rollers will make a big difference.

The roller isn't OP people, you can just shoot them before they get you you.

Man, the last match I had before the session was over was really awesome. My whole team were coordinating really well when it came to area coverage. Each person in my team had a different weapon which is something you don't see often. [I was using the Splat Charger ] The final results ended with the opposing team only being able to cover 3.2 percent of the whole map in ink. The final match was really fun and cool if you couldn't tell.

I'm not lazy! ...I'm just very forgetful. :|

Played this demo and enjoyed it. Online gaming has killed the social aspect for me though. It would have been great to play this game locally with my kids.

The full version has local multiplayer. This was just a small slice of the content in the game.

I managed to play all three rounds. I hope Nintendo decided to do this next weekend too. I don't think I can wait 20 more days.

Just played the last session. Was pretty fun although the area coverage of the roller is crazy.

Does anyone know if there's going to be an option to use the R stick for aiming and remove gyroscope controls in the full release?

It was in the demo, too. I don't blame you for not noticing. On the weapon select screen you have to press +, and then you can deselect motion control.

Listen to this guy. He has invested literally 2hrs into playing online and knows what's up.

It was an option in the demo so yes.

Basically, git gud. Seems convincing.

Easier said then done when the roller player is skilled enough to use the squid to avoid shots.

Like I said, players can improve all they want with the other ranged weapons to make the rollers more balanced.. but that doesn't ignore the fact the roller players will also be improving alongside the others. Today I found the squid sneek up tactic when being shot at to be rediculously effective.
