I brought mine Pre-Owned. How would I find out about eshop purches on the system. I've already cleared the Wii U and setup my account and that. @rockodoodle I'll see if I can get a £10 eshop card. In the UK we get screwed royally on prices lol. It happens everywhere. $10 = £10 with these things It looks like lol.

If you are in the UK get a £15 one and get Resident Evil Revelations for £12 or one of the dirt cheap physical games like Nintendo Land or ZombiU

@jariw I remember Toki Tori. Good game. One I will be looking to get.

@Tasuki Ah righty. May as well give it a try, Also if you keep tank tank open can you play as long as long as you like?

@Drobotic From what I understand. Here In the UK. We only have one Gamestop and that over 150 miles from where I live lol. I'm stuck with Game lol

@AOLCraig: No it doesn't work that way. Tank Tank Tank is a battle game kinda like Battle Mode in the Mario Kart games and once the battle is over you have to wait till tomorrow to play again.

What about renting games?

Last place to do rentals was Blockbusters here and that went out of business a couple years back. I'm sure something will come up

@AOLCraig: Ok wasn't sure if they had something like Redbox there in the UK like here in the US. Sorry then the only thing I can think of is demos or maybe cheap VC/eShop games.

Yea, maybe I'll see if I can get some money. Thanks for the helps though. I already have a long list of the games I want as I just been watching videos of games like some kid at Christmas lol.

The deal ends though next Thursday remember that. (Getting a physical copy of it obviously that doesn't apply).

Why would you buy a console without any games?

Tank! Tank! Tank!, Wii Sports Resort, and Lucadian Chronicles are free to download

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Someone that's in the same shoes as me. I got a pre-owned Wii U yesterday and now since I'm mostly broke, I can't get buy a new game at the moment. Super Smash Bros is gonna have to wait. On the upside I got three games with the Wii U, but none of them quench my action game thirst (they're scribblenauts, Lego City Undercover and New Super Mario Bros U. I plan on selling the first two later). Right now I've downloaded several demos, including Bayonetta 2, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Resident Evil Revelations and ZombiU, so you can start with those. I would recommend exploring the eShop and look at ALL of the games available.
I plan to do two things when it comes to buying a few Wii U games:

1) Wait for eShop sales, and possibly potential sales from game distributors. Checking eShop "Price Drop" section every now and then is good, as well as any news on publisher sales.
2) Look around for used Wii U games, either in game stores or from a seller (eBay, Amazon). Cheap but good games if possible.

*It would also help to find a game that you can put hours into easily so the interval between finishing a game and then buying another is longer.
Good luck to us both

At least try to play Lego City: Undercover before you sell it. It's really good (apart from the loading times.)

Welcome to the community.

Donkey Kong County: Tropical Freeze is my most highly recommended game for the Wii U, and this is coming from somebody who was not a fan of Donkey Kong Country Returns, either on the Wii or 3DS. Tropical Freeze provides the perfect challenge without ever becoming frustrating, has one of the best sound tracks I've come across, and is just all around a near flawless experience. It's my most played Wii U game.

Good luck!

My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."

A Wii U with no games cannot be a better deal than a Wii with 25+ games. Considering that the Wii U is fully compatible with the Wii library, I can't fathom why you'd want to get rid of all of those games (many of which I'm sure are now rare and could net you some serious dough on eBay), unless you couldn't see yourself wanting to play any of the those 25+ games again.

In terms of free content, there are demos of Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Resident Evil: Revelations and you can also download a free trial of Wii Sports Club. You'll have 24 hours access to all of the content, but if you wish to continue using the software, you'll either have to pay per sport (Baseball + Boxing is sold as a pack for the same price as the other individual sports), or buy the retail disc. The price works out to be about the same either way.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Sounds like it'll be interesting so I'll at least do that much.

@AOLCraig Thanks, no problem.

Rayman Legends Challenge was dropped when game was released. Rayman Legends you can find cheap (cheaper than Ninty's own titles, which barely drop price), so I totally recommend it, if you can find it preowned or I think even new.

Just remember that even with sales on eShop, there isn't many big games that you can download, since the limitations of hard drive. But there are plenty of cheap games, like here mentioned Toki Tori 2+, rush, edge. If Runner 2 is still on sale, it's great.

Assassins's Creeds are cheap, AC III is seriously buggy tho, AC black flag not that much. Injustice I think cna be found cheap too, if you are into fighting games and it's a good one (lol, I just checked Game's website and they've been selling it for 3 pounds so no wonder it's out of stock).

I just looked at UK Amazon and less that 10 pounds and worth it are NintendoLand, ZombiU. IMHO
