Topic: So I have a Wii U but no games. What to do?

So to cut the long story short, I traded my Wii with over 25 games to get my Wii U. I planned out that I would have enough money left over to get a game but that wasn't the case as i was only able to get the console. So sitting under my TV Is a nice Shiny Wii U but no games. I have tried a few demos but not too many on the store. So what do I do? as It looks as I may have to wait 2/3 weeks to be able to get a couple games. Not to sound like a scrimper but are there any free games on the Wii U to tide me over until I get some retail games or am I fated to see it sit under my tv until then?

Any Advice would be great. Cheers.

Check if the Rayman Legends challenge game is still available on the eShop. It was free.

Too bad you missed the VC Promo games: they were 30 cents:D

Hmmmm, is there anything else you can sell/trade? That's what I did. I also traded for a bundle though which got me two games to start, so my situation is a little different. To get Mario 3D World I traded a bunch of PS2 games I wasn't going to play anymore to a local game store (NOT Gamestop). I'll admit I got a little ripped off, but when you're desperate you're desperate

I don't have any games left as mostly everything went towards my Wii U. I don't think I would have got the 30c promo as I'm In the UK. But it's true though. Deseprate time's call for desperate measure's lol

You did not get any games with your system? Did you get that karaoke trial/demo thing?

Its probably for the best. Boxing week you'll probably find some really good deals on games. Im holding out on purchasing a few games till then myself.

Got nothing. Just the console. Manuals and box.

I may just have to wait to be honest.

You could check out the Pikmin 3 demo and the Bayonetta 2 demo if you want. Don't try the Wonderful 101 demo, apparently that one doesn't give a good impression of the full game.

Strange to get a console without any games. Never heard of that before.

Well I calculated I would have had some money left over but when It came to time of trading I was down £15 or so from what I counted so It was get the console then or put it off even longer.

Edge is only $1.99. Get a $10 eShop card and pick that up. Then get a game on sale or something like Ballpoint Universe. I also thought Castle Storm was a great value for $9.99. But youl will need a little more for taxes

Probably the best bet is just to get some demos. Did you buy it used or new? If you got it used you might luck out and someone could have got traded it in with some eShop purchases still on the system.

I brought mine Pre-Owned. How would I find out about eshop purches on the system. I've already cleared the Wii U and setup my account and that. @rockodoodle I'll see if I can get a £10 eshop card. In the UK we get screwed royally on prices lol. It happens everywhere. $10 = £10 with these things It looks like lol.

Tank! Tank! Tank! is free to play.

Everything is impossible if we think it is. Often all it takes is for one person to strongly believe that something can be achieved and to continue pursuing that goal to the end. - Satoru Iwata

If we're talking inexpensive eShop releases, some of the older eShop releases are really cheap now, such as Toki Tori 2+ (that game has lots of content).

@AOLCraig: Well if you already cleared the system and made your NNID then any previous purchases are gone now.

Also Tank Tank Tank is fun but you can only play it once per day.

Best(but still $60)game to get right now is Smash Bros.I suggest looking into buying used Wii U games at GameStop.I've seen some old games there such as Monster Hunter for only $18.Amazon is another great place to look for cheap new games to play on your new system.
