Did everyone forget that that was a real time demo, BTW? The only thing they would have to do with that E3 demo is add in animations and controls in order to turn it into a game.
That's beside the point that they had a chance to have 2 games remade instead of one. OoT 3D was already remade by that point,
why would they complain? "Darn Nintendo for making OoT have brilliant mind-blowing graphics, how dare they!" .......
If it looked like that picture.... My Sarcastic Imaginary Situation Simulator (SISS (TM) for short) tells me it would be more along the lines of...
"LOOKS TOO DIFFERENT OMG COMPLETELY DIFERENT ART STYLE WHAT IS THIS TWILIGHT PRINCESS MEETS OCARINA OF TIME I HATED TWILIGTH PRINCESS SERIOUSLY TOO MUCH BLOOM WHEN OUTSIDE YOU KILLED MY CHILDHOOD I HATE YOU NINTENDO... AND IT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK NEXT GEN ENOUGH"
Disclaimer: the SISS is not real and I made up the simulation using a stereotypically loud and highly exaggerated nonsensical overly attached and crazy fanboy as a base for it and it should not be taken seriously even a little bit.
Any more of a graphic change and fans would be rioting about how OoT doesn't look like how they imagined it would.
I really doubt anyone would complain if OoT looked like this:
I remember seeing that demo and think to myself "man, if Zelda U ends up looking anywhere close that I'll be the best thing ever".
but the face still looks flat....

My reasons I'm glad they didn't do OoT HD, rather than WW:
I have about four versions of OoT, already. I don't need another, anytime soon.
I have been wanting to play WW again, ever since it was "misplaced" by my brother.
It may have looked nice in 3D, but seriously the scale would look really small, and be hard to see.
An OoT HD Remake would require a total remake of the game (as previously mentioned)
@Morpheel Your SISS was pretty accurate, but that must have been a censored version, missing foul language and a few more lines of "matter-of-factual-opinions".
But yes, people will always find something to complain about: Windwaker was too light, Twilight princess was too dark, Skyward Sword was too shiny. Even if a game requires too much thought, or is too long, it can get a load of irrelevant critiques.
@Williaint I'm pretty sure most people complained that Skyward Sword was too Anime-ish and not too shiny I'm just fooling around

@GuSilverFlame The things I thought were most objectionable of the game were "it's too repetitive" and that it's "too shiny"; I had no complaints, even though I am still on the final boss... a few years later....
@Williaint all my complaints about Skyward Sword are actually complaints about having used old Wii remotes that used to fail only in important moments, I love the anime style too but I heard lots of people complaining about the anime style
