This is something that intrigued me and may not necessarily be a good idea financially. Many games get cancelled very far into development (Star Fox 2 being a good example) and could be ripe for completion and release with a bit more money and time thrown at it. However, since Nintendo has already saved Bayonetta 2 and has Devil's Third further down the road to release, do you think this would be a good idea for Nintendo to flesh out their library of games? There's a game that was recently cancelled by Comcept, Keiji Inafune's company called Kaio: King of Pirates that Nintendolife reported on. Should this game be picked up by Nintendo and made exclusive to Nintendo systems?
While this topic is in the Wii U section of the forums, I'm not just talking about the Wii U, I'm also referring to the 3DS, the NX and mobile platforms that they will soon be developing for too.

Only if its a game that shows promise while also being a genre that is under represented on the system they get it for. It is an easy way to boost exclusives and get some 3rd party support, though likely really expensive
Totally, especially if they're cult favorites. Sometimes niche games can find a very good following on consoles, like the PSP and PSvita. For example, that rumor about ZombiU 2 being cancelled. Nintendo should totally just adopt the franchise
I'm pretty sure zombie U is a ubisoft owned IP and they most likely wouldn't release the sequel if any on the Wii U now. They'd take it to the other 2.

It is Ubisoft owned, but if their whole issue is not making the money back, Nintendo should fund it. Cut out all risk on their part. Just like Sega owns Bayonetta, yet Nintendo funded a game for it.
I wonder if Nintendo could produce a Double Fine game. Double Fine has a following and it might be good for Nintendo to reach out more outside of Japan
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

As long as the budget and that side of things is not managed by Double Fine.
(I don't think there ever will be another Grim Fandango quality game made without somebody else managing it).
Only if they get something more than some fans saying "I want this game, so obviously it's a good idea"
This. 99% of canned games are terrible anyways. Unless it belonged to Sega, or was going to be a Capcom or Konami game after 2010. Then it was probably going to be great.
@CanisWolfred Still, those Konami and Capcom games would have been great. I might have bought Megaman Legends 3 if it was released and funded by Nintendo. A lot of people showed interest in that title.

Yes, well, the problem is that it seemed far too ambitious for its own good. Nintendo would have downscaled it by a lot

I wonder what the slate will look like for E3 for 2016.....Haven't heard much coming out after what they had announced. Not a big deal for me, since I have a big backlog, but Nintendo needs to sell systems.
