To be honest right now it has the best exclusives on all of the systems. I love playing off play, my brother and I literally use it all the time. The web browser works phenomenally, I use it to watch Hunter x Hunter and Hajime no Ippo on KissAnime all the time. Backwards compatible is beautiful, its the only system that still has it. The VC is kinda lack luster right now, but it has Earthbound! So I forgive it...for now. The shading is beautiful and the lighting...oh man its so good! It has the releases I'm most excited for MK8, SSBWiiU, X, DKCTF. Miiverse is awesome and I love looking at the pictures and VGA reading my comments on Wind Waker HD

-I got more enjoyment out of the first year games, at least compared to 3DS and even Wii if you ignore Twilight Princess.
-The controller is pretty cool, both in theory and execution.
-When people actually have notable use of the Gamepad features, it's been fairly consistently really good.
-Good japanese publishers are given a high profile chance to shine
-I didn't have to pay a cent to finally play an AC game online
-Miiverse is pretty cool and has been improved dramatically
-The eShop is really good and has shockingly worthwhile background music (maybe not so shocking after that catching Wii Shop theme that was put into Brawl of all things).
-The eShop lists the top selling digital games
-It has the definitve version of perhaps the definitive co-op platformer, Rayman Legends
-It looks to have a strong indie lineup
-Nintendo's lineup for this year has literally 4 sequels (or something similar) to a personal GOTY from previous years
-Taking advantage of free-to-play and the like in ways that haven't annoyed me so far
I almost forgot
-watching Twitch on my HD tv is pretty awesome. I've really, really enjoyed that.
I also shouldn't forget Bayonetta 2! That game is going to be awesome! Everyone buy that! Platinumgames have been great they definitely deserve the support from us Nintendo fans. Wonderful 101 was in every way wonderful!

The creativity that is needed to make games bring out the best in the system. It is trial by fire, but those who use the hardware well shall be rewarded with bold innovation. If only there was more..
I love how people are calling for more positive Wii U threads.
Like a few positive/negative comments are really going to change a whole lot that Nintendo will do.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

We're just here saying some things that we like about the system we bought, it is a public message board after all. Nothing to get worked up over, I don't think.

CPU compromised or not, I like that's small and quiet and sits nicely that way on my desk.
Yes!!! I thought I was the only one (besides moms!) lol. I'm a 26 year old male single guy, and the fact the Wii U is quiet and small is a huge thing for me (oxymoron intended).
I have always hated the noise that other consoles make when you watch movies, and even play games...
What people tend to forget about is that a noisy console really wouldn't work very well with the concept of off-tv play. I mean, the whole point is that you can keep playing without annoying anyone who wants to watch a movie or tv-show.
Which brings me to my second thing I love about the Wii U... Off-TV play! This is the single greatest living room revolution since the invention of the gaming console, I would argue... Example: I parked my Wii U at my parents house so I don't get too distracted while focusing on my thesis.. When I am there however, I can still play games while they watch the news or some tv-show.. In the past they wouldn't even have joined me in the living room, but really, the Wii U is enabling people to get back together in the same room. Good job Nintendo! They really think out of the box and about the way gaming affects your life, beyond the actual game itself... Which is what I like about Nintendo, they have a very philosophical approach to the tech industry and games. Can't say that for many other companies. Maybe Apple (as led by Steve Jobs and designer Jonathan Ive) is the only one that comes to mind.
So to summarize and bring up a few other points:
1. Small and quiet
2. Off TV-play
3. The games are great, really, even the 3rd party titles. PLENTY of things to play, and if you buy now there's no such thing as a game drought. Wind Waker making a glorious return doesn't hurt either, as it is my favorite Zelda of all time.
4. GamePad touch screen is great for browsing, typing, writing and new ways of playing... maps, menus and more..
5. Miiverse and eShop
6. Multitasking Internet browser and games.. Looking up hints if you're stuck without having to pull out my phone or laptop.
I really enjoy the gamepad. I like it more than I thought I would. Navigating Netflix and Youtube is a breeze with the gamepad. I'm also digging the interface with games like Zelda where everything is just streamlined and you can run all the menus right there in the palm of your hand without stopping the game.
I'm also liking the games we're getting on the system. "Wii U haz no gamez" is a stupid argument. How rich are you? How much time do you have on your hands? Do you have other systems to buy for? I don't get it.
Gotta get that Mario Kart 8, and I'll be set for a year! I almost start drooling when I think about Zelda Wii U as well.
1. Gamepad play gives me hours of extra play time while watching football or other TV.
2. Nintendoland/Asymmetric gameplay - don't play NL much but Mario Chase and Luigi's Mansion are awesome as is 2 player, 2 screen CoD
3. Wii Tennis online - more compelling than any game since Mario Kart Wii or Civ5 (bugs are 90% fixed now)
4. Free online. Also surprisingly lag free for stuff like CoD
5. 5-10 as yet unreleased Nintendo games that will embarrass anything that Sony and MS try to make.
I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.
even though it's too expensive for me to buy in my country it's still cheaper than XBone and PS4.... that's it for now I'll probably only have reasons to love WiiU after I have it.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
