So we're getting a Watch_Nintendogs version I see.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Outsource gate!!!

  • Yeah, it's been common knowledge for months that the Wii U version was being delayed and "co-developed" by another team.
  • Nintendo console owners are kinda used to this, like with Call of Duty being handled by different teams on Nintendo platforms.

Watchdogs has been delayed, criticized for looking "last gen" delayed again, rumored to be a re-purposed driving game, said to be "over budget", had recent controversy over framerate and resolution on PS4, and experienced all manner of setbacks. At this point, it's the "Waterworld" of video games. - Let's hope it doesn't bomb like Waterworld!

I hope it's good and that everyone who buys it gets some enjoyment from it, whatever version that happens to be.

Funny thing is the game can be good but will be considered a failure since the graphics aren't on par with the 2012 reveal.

They did the same thing with Far Cry 3.

The PC version should be like the reveal. (The hardware is not that hard to come by).

But they have a policy of deliberately degrading the PC version for a bit so as to not make the console versions look bad.

They could have made a PC version like the reveal and then ported it to the consoles. (No deception in doing that as seems to be their policy).

That was never going to happen and you know it. Consoles are the lead platforms in development and it was obvious once the PS3/360 SKUs were announced that the game was never going to look like it did when it was first shown off.

The Division will probably look as good as its reveal footage since there's no lastgen.

At the end of the day Watch Dogs still looks pretty good.

Nobody really knows because they don't try. There must be more potential customers than an Xbone/PS4 exclusive.

Did Crysis do badly as a PC exclusive for the first 4 years ? PC has no used games problem.

Maybe someone will try a PC Exclusive doing the best they can again sometime.

(Deliberately downgrading and then patching to stop comparisons with the best options enabled is a slimy move - But its Ubisoft corporate policy).

Crysis in 2007 had cd-key only, not origin or something like that. Also, 3 mln copies... in 3 years. That's actually god awful, but what is funny is that it's considered one of the "bestsellers"... So yeah.

Well games sales tend to be front loaded. 1-3 mil is pretty good depending on how consertive your budget is or if ota a first party game or a Trojan horse for another project. I'd say 3 mln was pretty good for a PC only game when that market was on a downward trend.

I can agree that for PC it is nice, but sales wise overall it is pretty weak, especially for such a hyped game. If I remember correctly, it costed them 22 mln to make this game, so it wasn't cheap.

Physical Copies.

Actually looking at this list : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games

There is only GTAV that has done better than the best PC ones.

More people would go for it if it looked like Watchdogs originally was going to I suspect.

Well EA fronted a lot of the cost for marketing and what have you, and you also take into the fact that crysis had some devs and publishers pick up the cry engine.

Guys, gals, people, listen up:

I think it's fair to say that with all the hype, delays, problems, controversy, and production problems that Watchdogs has faced, most people are taking a "wait and see" approach.

As of my typing this, the game comes out in two days, and no reviews?
What does this tell us?

Nintendo lifted their embargo on Mario Kart and sent out review copies half a month early.

The problem is that they released it while everybody is busy playing The Amazing Spiderman 2!

Maybe I'm just spoiled since Nintendo has let everyone and their grandma review MK8 but the day-of-release embargo has me worried on this.

It is quite interesting they have taken the least possible effort option in recommending an i7 or 8 core AMD. (I thought that would happen which is why I got an i7).

Its bad as well that if you pre-order you get loads of bonuses (Especially with the permanent multiplayer aspect).
