i have my son who has a Wii u console.. the console itself is working, the game pad was temperamental, only some of the buttons work, the touchscreen won't work. But the screen is on working and everything I'm stuck. I want to know what the problem could be I'm racking my brain as I say the gamepad go's on powers up fine picture etc just the touch and few buttons not working....
@FITZY9487 Try cleaning the touch screen with electronic-friendly wipes, then recalibrating it. For the buttons that don't work, see if there's any dirt inside the edges of the buttons. You may need to clean them off with an unused toothbrush.

Just wipe down the touch screen as best as you can, and that should fix the problem. It might be tricky to clean the buttons though, but a small enough q-tip might do the trick. However, if when thing messes up, its game over for the wii U. You can not sync another gamepad to the wii U, and will have to buy a new console, and at that point it might just be best to upgrade. So, you might just want to find a repairs shop nearby or something and pay to get it fixed.

You can also go to Nintendo's Support website and chat with them. If you can't get it to work, you will be able to send it in and they'll repair it, although I'm not sure how much that would cost.
