i would like to see a next-gen game like battlefield 4 running live on the ps4. i fell like youtube videos aren't showing the real deal...
has anybody played a ps4 at a promo stand? i'd loke to hear some real opinions on how much difference there is between ps3 and ps4
I saw a PS4 demo station at GameStop. Everything's kinda of transitioning from 7th gen to 8th gen with versions being mainly identical to the next, so it's not that impressive yet.
@Sony_70
I'm still not really impressed. The Knack demo looked like simple stuff when I played the demo. Killzone Shadow Fall looks pretty similar to past Killzones as well.
I think PS4 is suffering from alot of what Wii U was being accused of, even if it's not as of much. I still expect to see much better performance from every console.
@Sony_70 Might as well give up. Give them video of devs talking about what they are able to do now with next gen hardware and show them all the spectacular looking games and yet they still stick to "it's the same thing". They are willing to tell the devs themselves that they are wrong at this point.

That's not how it is. It's just not as impressive as most made it out to be. FIFA 14 looks nothing like the Xbox One presentation. It looks like the PS3/Xbox 360 game with a higher resolution.
The only games that look better are from Sony and Microsoft. 3rd parties are still struggling to figure out how to make their games look better.
My reasoning is that I still understand what's going on to get the better results and it's not exactly exclusive to one system or another, so why should I care?
I wouldn't say struggling but a big disadvantge that third parties have is they also have to make the games for current gen. Alot of the third party games that are only targeting 8th gen and PC look freaking amazing.
But even than the only gifs I posted were from first party games and the division which is next gen only.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.

All the negativity is a-little ridiculous, I agree.

To me those game play captures look fantastic.
Oh my god! Look how good this looks! No way something this great could ever be put on a PS3, it's obviously too advanced.
To be honest this doesn't really look too great. Looks just like what we have been playing on PS3 since 2009.
My god ppl, why not just wait until the damn systems come out to actually see the real difference. Videos and pictures are almost guaranteed To be down scaled so let's not use useless evidence as what it will look like.......
@FutureAlphaMale
No one is saying PS3 couldn't have handled Mario. The point is that Wii U will be able to handle any software that the PS3 could have when Sony 1st party studios targeted it to it's full potential and probably a bit more. Just imagine every 1st and 3rd party game looking as "real" as The Last of Us on a consistent basis.
I can recognize that the games on PS3 looked good. The issue I had with those games was the gameplay, not the cosmetics.
Killzone Shadowfall looks like it has the smooth animations of Killzone 2 and the precision of those animations as Killzone 3, combined.
No one knows what ANY of these systems can do. Everyone's basing their opinions off of the numbers and a few videos of early titles. It will at least be the end of 2014 by the time we are able to familiarize ourselves with what they can do aside from the first impressions.
Maybe Call of Duty Ghosts isn't the best example to be comparing 7th and 8th gen... I just want to make it clear that I do notice that Xbox One and PS4's visuals are more advanced, just not by much, or at least what I expected. Knack only has a little bit more "oomph" than current gen based on what I saw of the demo.
Take into account that all I saw was the first 3 levels, and the brightness and contrast were on a high setting on the Sony Bravia that was displaying it, which made me want to look away(it was too bright).
I have a PS3. I'll eventually get an Xbox One. I'm not trying to be negative about anything as much as sharing my opinion that things aren't as good as they can be, which is why no one should be throwing a fit about any system, including Wii U.
I don't think the graphics are so "ground breaking" that the Wii U doesn't have a place, which is what we've been arguing since before the Wii U even launched. They're nice, never the less. I just wouldn't expect people to choose a PS4 or Xbox One over the Wii U based on graphics alone. That's kind of missing the point of why we play video games.
even if they don't look FAR better, they still look kinda better and other things in the games will have improvements too. we can't expect Graphics being everything forever.
but I must say though it's just slight the difference is really visible, not huge but if anyone looks at the comparations trying to see the difference it'll be easy to notice.

@SCAR392 I agree with you but seeing how most of the first wave of games are being released on last gen consoles as well accounts for the jump not being as visibly clear also it takes time to achieve the full capabilities of a console just look at COD 2 and King Kong on the Xbox360 and then compare them to Halo 4.

That's an excellent point. After you get to the peak of the "uncanny valley", it becomes 'hyperrealistic'. Past realistic, more real than real....
So, there is an invisible realism roof; it's pretty much been hit, now.
So it is reasonable to form an opinion around a Demo, or movie trailer, it just may not be an accurate opinion.
There are a LOT of Movie trailers that have almost nothing to do with the actual film. Some have content just made to advertise it. Demos are a good idea, but I agree that the W101 one just left me more curious about the game (Which I love)!
