Are there any heavy hitters that could move systems? I only see Xenoblade and Yoshi Wolly World. I am sure these games will sell very well to existing U owners but i don't see this moving a significant number of units this upcoming holiday season. Thoughts?
we still got Xenoblade X Devil's Third Yoshi's WW (atleast in NA.) Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, Mario Tennis US(even tho we don't know much about them yet.), Fetal Frame, recently launch game Super Mario Maker
and Splatoon seems to do well. so there a lot of games to play during the Holidays, whenever Nintendo does Directs again this year (i know they say that they would still continued them.) they may surprised us with something
My Top 9 Favorite Games of All time.
1. Judgement
2. Baldur's Gate 3
3. Bully (Rockstar)
4. Person 4 / Golden
5. Sonic Adventure 2
6. Xenoblade X
7. Ape Escape 2
8. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
9. James Bond 007 Nightfire
Devils third will NOT move systems at all neither fatal frame( these are niche games). I know mario maker gave the U small bump in Japan( as of now) but that is it. I hope Nintendo will have some tricks up its sleeve on the next direct. I think the best strategy is to continue to advertise for Spaltoon ( BTW is a great game) Mario kart 8 and Smash and along with a tempo price reduction/bundles (however it is hard to do that since the game pad make this U expensive to make).
To to be brutally honest i think they are starting to give up on the U and looking forward. I really hope i am wrong!
@Shy_Guy: I think it will a bit. The way things are looking now the U will be lucky to sell 1 million this holiday season ( Black friday-Christmas eve).

i won't lie you're right that there not going sell, but i listed them because there due during the fall-holidays (atleast in USA)
but orther then that i aspect with Xenoblade X, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, and Yoshi to sell a few consoles though out this year, (maybe not yoshi, but i hope it does)
and i agree the fact that Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 didnt boost the Wii U sales up that Much. i be surperiesed if Yoshi or Super Mario Maker ended up helping more boost sales (then again we said same thing to Splatoon, and it doing ok)

Lol, Yoshi's Cotton Cosmos isn't even out in NA yet!?! This year is so ridiculously borked for Nintendo; which is amazing considering how well it started out and seemed initially.
I still think XenoBlade should be pushed up so it can be ready for black friday because that was what star fox was supposed to be.
Xenoblade Chronicles X and Yoshi Wolly World wont have the same success as star fox would have due to the fact it is a less well known IP so nintendo will also have to market older games like mario maker(Which would be a few weeks old by the time of black friday), splatoon and mario kart.
( Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash and Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival wont move too many units too...)
We wait untill they're done. Simple as that. Wii U sales will be slow and steady as they have always been and no big game will drastically change it. I say just enjoy the games that we get without worrying about sales now. Not really our business.
The fact you are reading this proves you are able to have an attention span longer than me. Well done sir or madam!
People will see new bundles like Xenoblade and Mario Maker and the older cheaper bundles and know there is still quality coming out for the system. Those two games alone have some fair weight to them.
@nathanjones007: a lot of forum users here seem to forget that a lot of family's buy Nintendo consoles. This is why they tend to have great holidays. I imagine many youngsters are beginning their folks for Mario maker and splatoon while being forced to wait for Christmas
Leave your spouse, abandon your kids, tell your Xboxes you love them, and lock yourself in the basement with the Wii U and Xenoblade for the next 5 months, no food, water, or pee pee corner necessary. Done.
