I just realized we haven't heard much (if anything?) about any upcoming sports games on the Wii U!
I personally love most of the sports games that Nintendo releases (hated Mario Sports Mix though), they're usually very fun ESPECIALLY with friends

One of my most memorable experiences on my Wii was playing Mario Strikers Charged online with my friend because it was the first Wii game to support online and I thought it was the coolest thing ever

I've also put COUNTLESS hours into Mario Power Tennis. I got the Wii remake but that was pretty bad, the Gamecube version was much better. I've also put a fair amount of time into Mario Super Sluggers. It was a very good game but had a steep learning curve so most of my friends never wanted to play it with me

Let's not forget Mario Hoops 3 on 3 for the DS! That's probably one of my favorites. I made the decision to buy the game from seeing my friend play the game for literally 10 seconds, and we played together at school the next day!

The touch screen on the game pad could allow for deeper strategies, by providing an overhead view of everyone and you could assign them to go to different locations on the fly

What kind of sports games do you think we'll see on the Wii U in the future? How do you think they'll be controlled? Personally I'd love to see another Mario Strikers game and another Mario Basketball game (so long as it's not like the one in sports mix)

Well I know that another Mario and Sonic Olympic games is coming out soon, I am looking forward to that one. I would also like to see another Super Sluggers game as well.

Wii Sports U is gonna be awesome. That's the kind of gameplay EA can't even think about implementing into their games.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games looks pretty decent, too...
I'll have to see more before I decide what I should buy, but there's already quite a bit of good looking games coming up.

1080 Snowboarding/Avalanche!
Take all the right pages out of the SSX reboot from 2012 and add some good Nintendo magic, and BAM, "1080 Blizzard"!

I'd like to see Nintendo move away from the Mario Sports games and give us sports fans some real options. I'm not saying give us MLB the Show, but something along the lines of the old Ken Griffey games.

That would be great the only problem with that is doesn't EA own the rights to all the names and stuff like that? I mean the only name I can see Nintendo using is the Mariners but that's because they own them. But yeah I would love to play an arcade style baseball game like Ken Griffey again without having to use the cartridge.

Nobody has exclusive MLB rights. EA only has exclusive NFL rights.

Wii U Open Tournament Golf and 1080 U. Also, how about a new skateboarding franchise, now that Tony Hawk is pretty much dead?

Sign me up for Wii U Open Tournament Golf!

As far as Tony Hawk goes, a new game was announced last week. I'm pretty sure it's releasing for the Wii U too, or at least that's what I read at another forum.
