Emotionally bad? I hear that's the worst kind of bad. ;(
Honestly though it's been up for years and I'd be surprised if many people were still actively using it.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Some people may not be able to afford A 3DS In Hard Times Like This
And now they have a new reason to buy one, granting Nintendo more money.
It is a good thing.

Dude, they weren't even paying for service. A service needs servers, you know? and they cost money. They are just taking down a service that cost them money.
I think Hatena is/was cool, but them dropping support is just for the sake of moving on to the new thing. It was free, so I don't understand how it could be horrible in anyway.
There's going to be way more you can do in the new one that should keep people going back in a longer period of time than the first one.
EDIT: Also, I'm pretty sure this thread belongs in the 3DS forum.

It's an old service, at this point the servers are just burning money. People shouldn't assume a game or app's servers will remain active forever. "In hard times like this" Nintendo needs to make money, if people can't afford to buy a current system they should be content with no online support. If you can't afford a new handheld, there's always the option to get a job (or work more hours), if you have time to play an old handheld you have time to earn money instead.

So Nintendo is moving away from Hatena to start their own service? If I remember correctly, money was made out of Hatena by giving users the option to purchase colored stars. Since they won't be partnering with Hatena this time, they have to find a different way to make money to maintain the new service.

I'm pretty sure it's still Hatena. Watch the Nintendo direct mini.

Hatena is a company of its own, they aren't a subsidiary of Nintendo, they reached a deal to make the DSi popular. And they originally funded the DSi service.
I suppose they no longer found the need to support them, and maybe thats why this app was delayed for so long.
