I got this game last week, and I've had a very enjoyable time. This game definitely reminds me of Criterions other awesome game, Burnout Paradise; driving around freely, finding events by waypoint , hitting jumps, driving through the various fences and signs, etc. I play the game using the gamepad most of the time and the pro controller once and awhie. Playing with a buddy can be fun but if you are not the driver and spectate, it does get boring.

As a visual standpoint, this game is very pretty. I love the lighting and spark effects. The textures are improved over the PS3 and 360 versions, comparable to the PC version apparently. The framerate can be a little jumpy but otherwise smooth. I do wish the damage to the vehicles were comparable to Burnout Paradise but I suspect that since there is actual vehicles, they had to tone back the damage.

Its great to see a worthy port from an awesome developer. Criterion knows their racing games and I do hope that other developers can take the Wii U seriously as they have.

I've been playing this game and I'm getting really frustrated with it because I can't seem to ten seconds without crashing. I don't know how to drift very well. Did anyone else experience this? If so, how do you get used to the controls and not crash so often?

You could try turning off traffic if you crash into other cars a lot.

Make sure you upgrade your cars. Handling becomes better with them. Use brake a lot..just tap it.

I need this game...badly. This and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut makes me glad that I've bought a Wii U.

Anyone see anything yet pertaining to 1.2.0 patch notes? Still can't find any info...

Don't you own a PS3?
Not that I don't understand the enthusiasm, though. I'm having a ton of fun with this on Wii U, and I'm seriously thinking of getting Deus Ex again just for Wii U because of how good of a game it is.

Best thread ever

I really don't think it matters... likely just some stability fixes, and resolving glitches like the one that prevented me from unlocking a car. If the patch did anything worth talking about, they would have told us or it would've been found out.

Yes it is challenging at first. You just have to practice, and realize that it doesn't take much to drift or make a good turn. Its all about feel. I don't know how to explain it, but hopefully after a couple hours something will "click" like it did for me, and you'll be able to not crash as much. don't be afraid to let off the gas for a moment, and using a combination of the hand brake and i guess regular brakes. it becomes intuitive after awhile.

When I leave the game, and then return to it later on, all of the upgrades that I've earned dissapear, yet everything else remains. Has anybody else noticed this?

In a game like this, motion controls are almost entirely a non option.

I'm the opposite, I can only play with the GamePad's motion controls. When I try using dual analogue I just crash all the time.

dizzy_boy...... I'm having the same issue. After I did the concour and started racing again online I had over 120 miles on the Ford GT. I got online the next day to find my car had 0 miles. I thought the game didn't save so I raced 120 more miles on my car. The next day it was back at 0. So I tried to put 20 miles on the GT and switch to another car and back to see if the miles stayed. They did stay that time but once I shut off the Wii U and logged back on only to find my miles were gone. I have read on EA's FAQ's that they understand something is not right after you concour. I spent over 2.5 hours on the phone trying to get someone to even speak to me.....They never did speak with me so I've ended up here and I still need some help.......... HELP!!!!

Just got this today and I'm enjoying it, but I'm a bit confused about "easy drive" and the whole finding cars thing when I can apparently just jump into any car I've unlocked without finding it? Is there another mode beyond easy drive? I guess I could try reading the manual, eh?

I'm liking the motion controls with the Gamepad okay, but why aren't motion controls used with the Wii remote - or does it not use the Wii Wheel? I'd much rather use the remote even if that means choosing between horn/nitro, but I don't really want to play with the d-pad. Again not getting why we're tapping buttons to drift when Excite Truck/Bots did drifting perfectly with motion controls - guess Nintendo devs just have some magic skills that way...

I really gotta disagree about the drifting mechanic. In some games, like Excitebots, drifting is meant to happen all the time as part of the craziness. In other games, like Most Wanted, or Mario Kart, or Gran Turismo, sometimes you want to drift, other times you don't. It's that simple. The button needs to be there to give players control. Also, the Excite games are not Nintendo developed

Regarding wiimote controls, apparently you can use the wiimote motion to steer, and it is even an option you can turn on and off in the controls menu, but It simply doesn't work for me. I've seen YouTube clips of people using it, so I have no idea what is going on.

Easy drive is not a mode, it's a game mechanic. It simply is that you can swap cars on the fly. In the PS3, 360, and PC versions you had to first find a car in the world, and then if you wanted to drive it, you would have to swap to the location of the car, but on the WiiU they smartly made it so you can simply swap cars right where you are, and you have access to all the basic ones the moment you start your game.

Fair enough - guess I like my drift mechanics a little more realistic: when I oversteer I expect my car to drift in real life!

As far as the remote motion goes I guess it could be a bug? Are you in a PAL territory because I am. I fired the game up with the Wii Remote and made sure motion was on and it just NEVER did anything. I don't like that you can't toggle controllers apparently either. With a remote on I could only play with it. I'm going to try being more clever and reading the manual today to see if that brings enlightenment!

It is a whole lot of fun though. I enjoy just running from cops and smashing into things with these overpriced sports cars!

Reading the manual was the key! With Gamepad and Remote active the game seems to default to Co-Driver mode and in this mode the Gamepad controls whether motion controls are active for the primary driving controller. I brought up the driving menu on the Gamepad and sure enough the motion control was switched off there, although oddly co-driver was greyed out. A bit confusing to be sure since there's a total disconnect between this setting and the gameplay setting in the "+" menu.

Now using my Wii Wheel as the Goddess intended!

I got the tenth most wanted slot - the Alpha concept is mine!

Man that Venom car is bloody impossible to beat, though. I'd have thought given that Most Wanted challenge was open right away meant it would be easier! There's quite a lot to experience, but I get quite distracted just driving around and running from cops as opposed to races. Very much worth the download price!
