It's the Super Mario Lost Levels-style sequel to Mutant Mudds, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge! You control a boy with a water gun and a jetpack and blast your way trough mudd enemies in challenging levels.

Has anyone else bought this game yet. Couldn't find a topic for this so I started one. Anyways, the game is quite challenging but feels almost always fair, especially because the levels have check points. In the original game on 3DS the game didn't have checkpoints (they were added on later versions and updates if I remember correctly) and it was sometimes rather frustrating to do the same parts over and over again if you wanted to collect all the coins in levels. Now, it's much more fun to collect everything when you have a checkpoint and don't have to go trough every secret area of the level when you lose a life trying to collect everything.

I finished the game last night and here's my end results:

The game has infinite continues so you dont have to play it as carefully like some old NES game with limited continues. I really appreciate that because the character you control in the game isn't too fast and can't run, just walk, shoot, jump and fly with the jetpack. My character died 287 times during my playtrough of 20 levels, 20 secret levels and 5 boss fights.

Anyone planning to do a zero deaths run in this game?

Oh, almost forgot to mention... I didn't collect every single secret in the game. Each level has a very well hidden character you can choose to play as. I only found three of them.

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.

I'm midway through the game right now (just started world 3) and am really loving it. They weren't kidding about the challenge, which I think is great. None of the levels so far have been absolutely ridiculous as far as difficulty goes, but they have just been very well-designed and fun levels. I'm looking forward to the rest of the game!

Mudd Mage took about 40 lives from me before I figured it out... so I'm currently at about 120 deaths I think? I'm on 3-2, but did 5-1 for fun randomly also...

Just finished! What a great game. I'm very happy with it. Ended up with 287 deaths.

@evenflow403: Now try to beat it with 0 deaths lol

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Really? The exact same number I got? Well, congratulations! Did you find all the secret costumes too?

@Luffymcduck: I didn't realize you had 287 also, haha. I had read your post a while ago and thought it was 289 for some reason. But yeah, 287! Exact same. I actually only found 1 of the secret costumes. They are hidden very well. I'm not sure I'll invest the time to go hunt them down, though. I started up Super Mario Galaxy 2 once I finished (played SMG1, but just never got around to SMG2 years ago). I did find all of the music tracks and coins on MM Super Challenge.

One user on this site told me that they're hidden those secret levels inside platforms that have a circle mark in them.
