Topic: Monster Hunter 3 Wii vs. Wii U

I was never too interested in the monster hunter series, thought I might give it a try somewhere in the future, probably starting with 3 ultimate on the wii u, if at all.

Right now, however, I have the option to buy the monster hunter tri pack, the one that comes with the classic controller. Its 40 EUR (new!) and its actually the controller that I am interested in (having xenoblade chronicles in mind!).

I need your help here! Does it make sense to miss out on the high def version of the game just because of the controller (I am certainly not gonna buy both versions)? How striking is the difference between the two versions? Are there any additional content in the wii u version that I shouldnt miss out on?

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is in HD, more monsters, more armour, more quest and most importantly it has online multiplayer. The Wii's Tri online server has been shut down. So yeah I would suggest going for the MH3U for the Wii U.

How many more quests (roughly) are we talking here? Are these just fillers or worthwile editions?

I am not really interested in online-gaming (yet)

I'd say the wii bundle is worth it for the controller, but Monster Hunter Tri does not compare to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

If you have any questions about the game itself, please use one of the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate threads (don't worry if they're old).
