10 Amiibo confirmed, game will be included with compatible amiibo for a short time before hitting the eshop later on for free.

Game is Japan only thus far.

Apparently it's just Mario, peach, toad, rosilina, dk, diddy, bowser, and bowser jr who are compatible

Hopefully it will be good. I certainly have enough Mario-related amiibos that would love to see some more use.

Apparently all amiibos are compatible but only the Mario cast are playable characters. Really lame if Nintendo wanted this as their game to push amiibo sales. I'm guessing the other amiibos will just unlock themes for the levels.

ugh, why can't we have a mini Isabelle or a mini Sonic, nope instead where going to have just Mario Chars and a "Mini Spec" that you use on non mario characters.
if Super Mario Maker can put any amiibo into the actual characters, then why not Mario & Friends?
such a huge loss, oh well i'll continued to play Super Mario Maker.
edit: im still interested in this game, as it could be fun. (atleast it's free) once it's fully out then maybe i'll be able to try this out for myself. but my only issue so far is the fact that non-mario characters won't be in this

Hopefully, it will count yarn Yoshi as a separate character from normal Yoshi.

I don't think this is playable without the amiibo, right? Too bad, because I actually liked the Mario vs DK series..

It's playable without amiibo, you just have to use a generic box character and you won't have access the the amiibo stages.

Well, considering it is meant to be completely free, I'm OK with that.

I conveniently own mostly Mario amiibos (Bowser, Peach, Luigi and Yoshix2)...

By the way, it seems the generic block character is simply a stand in for any other non-mario amiibo, it'll probably work just like the other characters in that you need an amiibo to play.

And as always Wario is pushed to the sidelines

@Santa: Haven't watched the vid, I'll do so when I get home. But thanks, hopefully the game won't be too limited without amiibo.

I can't wait until this "Bowser Junior must be inside the clown car" thing is over.
Back on topic,this game is another AC amiibo festival.

On one hand, this game is a complete waste of time for a series I find hard to believe most Nintendo fans even remotely care about.

On the other hand, since it's come out that the people behind these games are bigoted idiots, I see this as as an amusing punishment.

I like the Mario vs Donkey Kong games, they've been iffy as of late and this looks like it will continue the tradition.

It seems this is the rumored Amiibo game NST was working on. I've lost count of how many DK vs Mario games there are by now, but the original GBA one was the only one I really liked.

So hello there people, Morphell linked me here and on my previous forum post I was talking about a leak that happened on 4chan about Daisy and Toadette appearing on the game.
Since Morphell told me I couldn't directly link to 4chan, I decided to post the reddit post that's where I found the leak:

Why does Mini Bowser Jr. have a clown car anyway? Remember the days when Jr. didn't always have one? It doesn't really make sense here or in Smash since Clown Cars are supposed to fly. But whatever, I'm probably skipping this game anyway. Mario vs. Donkey Kong hasn't been good since the GBA one.

He has one because his amiibo has one.

It also adds something unique to what would've been just "a tiny Bowser".

I am looking forward to this. I enjoy the MvsDK series and I have almost all of those amiibo, just need Bowser Jr. now lol. I hope they do something a little bigger with amiibo but this still looks fun. Maybe they are saving the big amiibo game for the NX.

So we finally have a release date for the US.
