@Rexcalibr This is rediculous that I can't play the new Zelda on my PS4. Its crazy it's 2016 and every console should have a Mario and Zelda game on it.

@JohnBlackstar That was not the point. We all know that Saturn and PlayStation played CDs. The point was did it really matter back then? Have people found it to be natural to use a video game console connected to a television in order to listen to some music? Or maybe people who bought music CDs had already other devices more suited to play them? Like the pride of every living room in the 90's, the Hi-Fi.
I am of the opinion that no, it wasn't a big deal. In fact, I think the only console that sold itself because of media capabilities was the PS2 with DVD support. They released it at right time, at the right price. In the early 00's, the market was in dire need of replacing the analogue and obsolete VHS tapes.
The PS3 with a Blu-ray drive, on the other hand was a massive mistake, one that led to the infamous $600 price tag.
@samurai_goroh - Everyone listened to their Lunar Silver Star Story bonus cd in their PS1 along with the bonus music tracks on Castlevania. Segata Sanshiro advises all users to listen to the Saturn's glorious cd player.
Yeah, basically what @Pahvi was asking was whether or not anyone cared about it. I'm not old enough to have had a CD collection at the time but my brother did. He also had a PS1. I know it's anecdotal but I don't remember it ever being much of a big deal to him. Which makes sense given what the landscape was at the time.
Basically, CDs in the PS1? It was about as big a selling feature as DVD playback on the 360 was. Or Blu-Ray playback in the PS4. Probably a bit less so because who listens to music on their TV? But either way, by the time it was a thing on those consoles? The format was mainstream enough that anyone who cared already had the means to play it on something else.

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
3DS is a handheld, not a console. Obviously I wasn't talking about the 3DS.
Assuming this was in any way directed towards me, if you can't tell by the Kappa at the end of my post, I was being completely sarcastic/joking. In no way was I being serious. Also, as others have said, the 3DS is still a console. It's a handheld, yes, but a handheld console. One final thing, you're the type of person to argue that just because one console has one thing, every console should have it. Waiting for that "Mind = Blown that you can't play disks on the Atari 2600" thread, my good sir.
@Rexcalibr Where's my free Wii U games each month. PSN and XBOX Live gives me free games every month. Nintendo should do the same.
you have been spewing non stop foolishness for the past two pages. Take a seat.
And you have been doing the same for months now. All I am doing is using your logic on you. Now you see how dumb and pointless this thread is?
nope sure don't. If anything, it got people talking and for a topic that's so "dumb" you've been all over it and tip typing away into it like never before.
