No one (that I'm aware of) has taken my design idea, but it's something I'm sure someone else, somewhere has the same idea. Hope I can get it out first. I should start designing it on my drawing pad, so I don't take a lot of time in the editor.

Super Mario Maker 3D, for the 50th anniversary of Mario. Totally calling it now.

Gah, too far . How about Mario 64's 30th anniversary.

Thinking on my idea, has anyone seen if after beating a boss you can make blocks disappear, or a pipe appear? Or is it only battle and done, no alteration to the environment?

Nope. There are no enemy drops, and you can't sent something to appear after a boss is defeated. You're going to need to find some creative way around it to implement a mandatory boss battle.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Sorry that I missed the boat on this, can someone confirm for me that the 8-bit Mario amiibo is exclusive to buying the physical Super Mario Maker and is not available it's own or with the digital version of the game?

Well from what I can tell it does appear to be available separately so unless there's some weird regional differences. That said here at least the Amiibo bundle is $10 more than the game by itself and the Amiibo is $17. That plus the fact that you get the booklet on day 1 in that package? I think this is one where the physical release is a better deal.

Modern 8-bit Mario is exclusive to Walmart in Canada.

Do I see that correctly? Mario Maker is 70$? o.o
Or is this a Amiibo bundle or something?

Looks like it's for the game only. You get a booklet with it though and canadian dallor is a little bit weaker then the american dollar

@PaperMario64
I totally missed that it's for Canada. I only read "Walmart" and thought it was American. My bad! :3

Someone made a math level. Sadly, you can cheat by looking at the title screen

How does looking at the title screen count as cheating?

@LztheQuack: The point of the level is to do math while on moving platforms, but you can see the entire level in the title screen if you're looking through courses, so you can do the math before you enter (or you can see which one has the door).

@Megumi, The Game Theorist played it on today's livestream, but the video is now private. But the level had math equations written with blocks, and then there will be multiple (one-way) pathways with a number next to it. The number that's the solution to the equation is the correct pathway, and you go there and continue.

It's a Mario level editor. What did you expect?

On another note, it does remind me of an old review score a certain magazine gave WarioWare DIY. They basically gave it 100% because it let them make games and they considered their own games perfect. Wonder if anyone will say the same about Mario Maker?

Super Mario Maker is not a Mario level editor. That's not what the product is about.

I have seen reviews where they reduce the scoring because they think Super Mario Maker simply is a level editor.

It was only a matter of time, but somebody did it. Somebody uploaded a video of what I believe is all of the amiibo costumes.

Here's the video (spoiler warning):
