Hopefully it has four Zelda tracks with Hyrule Field, Stone Tower Temple, Ancient Cistern and of course Faron Woods which already is confirmed. Or something like that!

Eh, personally I think we'll see one track based on Zelda. Is the logo misleading? I don't think so, the logo has had never anything to do with the tracks anyway. We know that the November Pack will also contain an F-Zero track, and an Excitebike track. My guess is that they'll introduce four ''Nintendo''-themed tracks and four retro tracks in each pack.
On a completely different note, I downloaded the free Mercedes DLC, and I have to say, they've done a great job fitting real cars in a Mario Kart game; they look great.
Its so obvious that the next batch of announced DLC will include Star Fox and Metroid themed tracks. Samus will totally be joining the game. Fox will too.
Has Nintendo revealed anything about the soundtracks for the new DLC levels? I hope they get the same care as the standard MK8 levels, with live musicians and so on.
Isn't it kinda odd how it takes months for 8 tracks, 4 karts and 3 character?
I mean, over 6 months for the Animal Crossover DLC?
Could just be for marketing. Zelda DLC to remind people of Hyrule Warriors during Black Friday. Possible AC announcement in May 2015... who knows. they also probably have a much smaller team working on the DLC
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yeah, the rest of the team is working on Baby Metal Tanooki Mario Kart
I will update this when Half Life 3 arrives. [Started 17/11/2015]

Design the courses (although a basic design might have been available for some time)
Create the 3D models for the whole track landscape, including textures
Create and design the animated figures and events that should appear along the course
Composing/recording/mixing the music.
Create sound mixes for any course-specific events that happens on the track.
Test and debug the courses, using all possible vehicle parameters
Redesign the courses when playing tests show that it's needed
Optimize download size
I have probably missed quite a few steps here, but I don't think the time required is odd at all. Furthermore, the time required for the first DLC (counted from when the golden code was available, late April at least) is about the same as for the second DLC.
I'm eh on the DLC I wanna like it but the DLC roster sucks harder than the actual roster, link looks weird villager is okay same with Isabelle and the colored yoshis and shy guys are beyond stupid, only thing that saves this is the tracks, I'll still be avoiding this game at any cost and I'll wait until Smash Wii U or Bayonetta to pick up a system then I'll probably get this if I ever find it for extremely low price
for the record, one of the most exciting things in gaming has been Mario Kart DLC
Not that it isn't exciting for DLC, but I am really reminded of how dull this year has been for gaming when Nintendo characters being in an already released Nintendo game is the most interesting thing going on.
@jariw I know there's a lot to do, but with a whole team it shouldn't take as long, and remember that they make most of it simultaneously. It's probably as @DefHalan said, they have a smaller team. Maybe the others started working on Nintendo Kart/Super Kart Bros.?

I would still love to see a Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze track. There is no new DK track in the original game anyway, a first since Super Circuit, I think.
I also feel there should be a retro Bowser's Castle, but not a flat one like the ones from SNES and GBA. We just had GBA ones twice in a row before, so it should be Wii's or Double Dash's, preferably Wii's. DS's could be a possiblity, but that track was dull, I thought. Then again, they breathed so much life into DS Wario Stadium, so it could be done. Oddly enough, I dreamed about playing a remade DS Bowser's Castle.
Only 2 games didn't have a DK track (SNES and GBA) so yes you're right, although not explicitly named I kind of consider Riverside Park to be one though.

I think it is likely they started working on a completely different game, maybe that team moved to Star Fox, who knows. I just don't think they started full development on another Kart racing game... maybe F-Zero lol

Blue Falcon was in MKWii and nobody seemed to freak out then.
