It could mean a number of things. I'd like to think that it means they realized that talking about talking about it is against their NDA with Nintendo, but it's possible that the info they had hoped to bring us was actually not going to be free to the public until much later. This could also mean--if you're a pessimist and just want to think the worst--that MK8 has been delayed, and instead of big news, we'll just be getting a new release date for August.
Check their Corection post of the date of when they did the Mario Golf Stuff. It's still coming.

Hahahha I'm just saying that Mario Kart 8 should be a really high quality game....
Its doomed to get terrible hate for horrible reasons.
The entire Wii U fanbase might get called children cuz of this game, for example.
Why though? All the other major first party releases for the Wii-U have have been rated highly by fans and critics alike. There has yet to be a bad MK game yet, and there's no reason to doubt that this one will be great from what we have seen so far.
Even friends of mine who don't care about most Nintendo titles still have a soft spot for the MK series, so I have to believe it will be another huge hit.
Far as I know Mario Kart is pretty popular among casuals and hardcore gamers alike, even those that don't care much about Nintendo's other titles save Smash Bros. / Zelda. MK8's been praised across the board ever since it was revealed unlike Mario 3D World or Donkey Kong (even if the latter IMO got unfair treatment).

What he's saying is that the game will be great. It's probably going to be well-loved by Nintendo fans and critics alike, but there will be morons out there that hate on this game for stupid reasons, like "Oh, my God, Mario Kart's such a kiddie game! Forza/Driveclub is the way to go, you twerp!" Not to mention the ever popular "You mean that game that gives first place to the worst drivers? Yeah, that's /so/ gonna be the reason I get a Wii U eye roll "

Why not? My brother and I played All Cup for days trying to get the highest Rank. It was so much fun. I wouldn't mind having it again. Not sure if they should allow it to be played online but I think it would be very fun for single-player.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
