Every single part of the Wii U I looked at has the "Made in China" sticker attached to it. (Even the bloody fan)
Doesn't that in fact make it a Chinese console?

So where are the Chinese games? Tencent is making the likes of Asura Online/Monster Hunter Online and Archmage so can't they bring some of their games to the Wii U English speaking market?

Kinda sucks that we get all their hardware, yet we get none of their games...

Well, it was made in China, but it turned Japanese.

Just for you.

Basic economics. Hardware is cheaper to manufacture in China - software generally isn't. Would you rather pay an extra hundred dollars and have it manufactured somewhere where everything is more expensive? Because I wouldn't.

More like a global console. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo sell consoles and games in many countries. In addition, their basic components (i.e. CPU, GPU, RAM) are likely designed and planned out in pretty much the U.S. while the sub-components (i.e. embedded microchips, disc laser-diodes) are designed and planned out in pretty much Japan and some other east Asian countries. Lastly, almost all of them are assembled and manufactured in China. Yet a majority of the games are from either Japan, the U.S. or the U.K.

A resources based economy will dig up the resources (Australia, China, Russia), an information based economy will design it (Japan, US, UK), a technology industry will design the tech (US, Japan, S.Korea), and an economy with cheap labour will put it together (China, Taiwan). So any random bit of tech on your shelf was probably designed in Japan using American tech and put together in China with Australian rocks.

Wii U is a japenese console. Nintendo developed it and then commisioned a factory in china to make the physical unit. The fact that they hired some Chinese people to build it has to impact on the games it gets and doesn't make it a Chinese console.
